Tineco has released a new edition of its Floor One S9 Artist Steam Pro wet and dry floor cleaner in Australia, bumping the steam temperature to 230 degrees Celsius, extending battery life to 110 minutes and adding a reverse scrub mode for targeted spot cleaning.

The updated model, priced at $1,499, is available now through Tineco’s online store, Harvey Norman, The Good Guys, JB Hi-Fi, Bing Lee and Retravision. Tineco is offering a complimentary accessories pack worth $90 with purchases made between 13 August and 13 September 2026, redeemable via the Tineco Australia website.

The new edition represents a significant spec bump over the previous S9 Artist Steam, which offered steam at around 99 degrees Celsius and up to 75 minutes of run time in auto mode. The 2026 model more than doubles the steam temperature and adds roughly 35 minutes to the battery.

The steam temperature jump

The headline specification change is the move to 230-degree Celsius super-heated steam, up from 99 degrees in the prior model. Tineco refers to the technology as HyperSteam and positions it as enabling chemical-free cleaning of sticky or baked-on messes.

The steam system is complemented by electrolysed water, which Tineco uses as a disinfection method. Electrolysed water is produced by running an electrical current through a saltwater solution, creating a cleaning agent without the need for chemical additives. The combination of high-temperature steam and electrolysed water is intended to provide disinfection without relying on conventional cleaning chemicals.

Country Manager for Tineco ANZ, Jade Tang, framed the update around the three issues the company hears most from Australian consumers.

“We’ve spoken to Australian consumers, and know that run time, noise and the reliance on harsh chemicals are frustrations and concerns holding households back from truly effortless, deep cleaning results,” Tang explained. “This new edition S9 Artist Steam Pro was engineered to solve all three at once, giving Australians more power, more flexibility and more peace of mind that the floors in their shared home living spaces are hygienically clean.”

Battery life and noise

The 110-minute run time is a notable step up for the cordless wet and dry category, where most competing models offer between 40 and 75 minutes. Tineco describes this as enough to clean an entire house including floors and stairs without needing a mid-clean recharge, though actual run time will vary depending on the cleaning mode and floor conditions.

The new edition also adds a Quiet Mode that runs at around 69 decibels – roughly equivalent to a conversation at normal volume. The self-cleaning cycle, which Tineco calls FlashDry, has been updated with a Silent Mode that runs at approximately 40 decibels, a reduction from previous models. The noise reduction is aimed at households where cleaning schedules don’t always align with the rest of the family’s sleep patterns.

“Whether it’s an early riser or parents of light-sleeping kids, we want everyone to be able to clean whenever it suits their lifestyle,” Tang added. “It is this innovation that Australian households can expect from Tineco as we continue to design and engineer to suit the cleaning needs of consumers.”

Reverse scrub mode

The other notable addition is a Reverse Scrub mode designed for targeted spot cleaning. The feature activates a 14-second reverse brush rotation that concentrates scrubbing power on a specific area, increasing friction against the floor surface to break down dried-on or sticky debris without requiring the user to manually push and pull the unit back and forth over the same spot.

The mode is activated on demand and is intended to address the kind of stubborn stains – dried food, tracked-in mud, adhesive residue – that a standard forward-pass clean may not fully remove in a single sweep.

Returning features

The new edition retains the core features from the existing S9 Artist platform. These include a 180-degree lay-flat design with a 12.85cm profile for reaching under furniture, iLoop smart sensor technology that detects dirt levels in real time and adjusts suction power and water flow automatically, and a continuous brush-rinsing system that Tineco calls MHCBS, which is designed to prevent the unit from mopping with dirty water.

The SmoothDrive system uses omni-directional wheels that simulate an automotive differential, varying left and right wheel speeds to reduce the effort required during turns. Triple-sided edge cleaning handles baseboards, a DualBlock anti-tangle system is designed to handle hair and pet fur without clogging the brush roller, and an LED headlight illuminates under furniture.

Market position

Tineco has been recognised by Euromonitor International as the number one household wet and dry vacuum cleaner brand globally by retail sales volume for four consecutive years (2022 through 2025). The company’s products are used in more than 24 million households worldwide across approximately 30 countries and regions.

The brand, which was founded in 1998 and introduced its first smart vacuum in 2019, holds 975 patents and 577 registered trademarks globally. The company ranks in the top 50 worldwide in the iF Design Ranking for 2022-2026 with 19 award-winning projects, and its wet and dry floor cleaner range received Good Housekeeping’s 2026 Cleaning Award for multifaceted floor vacuum.

The Floor One S9 Artist Steam Pro comes with a two-year warranty. The $1,499 price point places it at the premium end of the cordless wet and dry category, where it competes against models from Dreame, Dyson and Roborock, among others. The launch accessories promotion runs until 13 September 2026 while stocks last, with terms and conditions available in-store.
