Surprisingly Useful AI Article Enhancements
As AI tools become standard in dealmaking workflows, a growing concern is emerging around where confidential transaction data ends up when teams use external platforms to analyse documents.
Ansarada, the AI virtual data room platform, has launched the next generation of its Intelligent Dynamic Assistant, AiDA, bringing AI capabilities directly into the secure data room environment rather than requiring users to export sensitive files to third-party tools.
The update introduces what the company describes as a “prompt-first” approach to dealmaking, where users can ask questions about documents, due diligence, permissions, activity and Q&A directly inside their existing data room.
Managing Director at Ansarada, Justin Smith, described the shift as fundamental to how deal teams operate.
“This is a shift from searching documents to asking documents – that’s the change we’re designing,” Smith explained. “Speed matters, but the bigger win is that teams spend less time digging for information and more time actually using their expertise.”
Smith added that the approach is not about replacing deal professionals but about keeping sensitive information contained.
“This isn’t about AI replacing anyone. It’s about giving deal teams control, a faster way to get answers and make decisions with confidence, without anything confidential leaving the secure environment the deal’s already running in.”
The problem with external AI tools
For decades, M&A transactions have relied on manual search processes, with teams spending hours reviewing documents, analysing Q&A logs, exporting reports and piecing together information from multiple sources.
As AI has become embedded in enterprise software, some deal teams have begun downloading documents and placing them in external AI tools that sit outside secure environments – raising the risk that valuations, due diligence findings and other sensitive M&A information could be exposed.
Ansarada argues this has become one of the largest blind spots in AI adoption across regulated finance.
By embedding AI directly into the data room, the company aims to let teams surface insights without moving confidential data outside the platform where the deal is already being managed.
What AiDA now does
The latest release introduces several capabilities. Users can now begin with prompt-first workflows, asking questions about documents, folders, people, teams, permissions, activity and Q&A within their existing room permissions.
The system includes AI document intelligence features such as PDF summaries and the ability to identify parties, dates and monetary values within documents.
AiDA also offers context-aware assistance, finding related questions and drawing on previous information to support response drafting.
A role-aware security layer ensures every response reflects the user’s room role, Q&A role and team permissions, meaning users only see information they are authorised to access.

The update also brings a redesigned navigation experience that places AiDA alongside data rooms, subscriptions and key workflow tools in a single interface.
Spanning the deal lifecycle
The updated platform is designed to support multiple roles across the transaction lifecycle.
Sell-side M&A teams can use it to strengthen deal preparation, respond to buyer questions faster and track engagement. Buy-side teams can accelerate diligence by prioritising document review and identifying key risks sooner.
Corporate development teams gain visibility across active opportunities, while private equity firms can assess potential investments and monitor portfolio readiness. Corporate leaders can access transaction summaries without relying on teams to compile them manually.
Every interaction remains within Ansarada’s secure environment, with the aim of protecting confidentiality and maintaining governance throughout.
Scale and reach
Ansarada has facilitated more than 60,000 transactions across 170 countries and counts four of the Big Four accounting firms and 85 of the ASX 100 among its users.
The AiDA update forms part of the company’s latest OS Bondi release and reflects its broader push toward AI-first dealmaking infrastructure.
