Coverage Powered By High Performance Laptops

ZTE Australia has released its new nubia Pad 5G Android tablet on these shores. Sold exclusively through Optus at a recommended retail price of $299, the nubia Pad 5G combines features such as an 11-inch FHD+ display, 256GB of storage, a magnetic keyboard, and support for 5G networks.

ZTE said the tablet is designed for customers who want a second screen at home, a study device for school, or a full-featured tablet for work on the move.

Display And Design

At the centre of the nubia Pad 5G is an 11-inch Full HD+ display with a 1,920 x 1,200 resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The company said this allows for smooth performance when scrolling through apps, watching content or browsing the web.

“It’s a display that supports a wide range of use cases,” said a ZTE spokesperson. “Whether you’re reviewing documents, watching videos, or just browsing, the visual experience is a big part of how a tablet performs.”

Storage And Performance

The device includes 256GB of internal storage, alongside 6GB of RAM with an option to expand by an additional 10GB through virtual memory. ZTE said the focus on storage helps avoid the issue of frequent clean-ups and limitations on app or file installations.

“Storage is often one of the first compromises on affordable devices,” the spokesperson said. “We wanted to change that, and make sure users don’t hit limits too quickly.”

Built-In Google Gemini

The nubia Pad 5G also includes Google’s Gemini Ai assistant, integrated to support everyday tasks such as reminders, bookings or content creation via natural language interaction. The company said this would give users more intuitive control without needing to navigate through complex menus.

“Users can simply speak to their tablet in plain English to get things done,” the company stated.

Connectivity And Portability

Along with Wi-Fi and legacy 4G, the tablet supports 5G mobile connectivity, giving users more flexibility when away from fixed networks. A 7510mAh battery is included, along with a 22.5W USB Type C fast charger in the box.

ZTE said the tablet is aimed at customers who need to stay connected on the go or use it as a primary mobile device.

Keyboard And Accessories

Each nubia Pad 5G ships with a magnetic keyboard that also functions as a stand and protective case. ZTE said this was included to increase the device’s use for productivity, without requiring a separate purchase.

“The keyboard turns the tablet into a more functional device for writing emails, working on documents or just propping it up to stream content,” the spokesperson said.

Audio

The nubia Pad 5G features four built-in speakers and support for DTS:X Ultra. ZTE said this enables clearer sound for both media playback and communication, despite the tablet’s compact form.

The device is available now exclusively from Optus. For more information, visit www.nubia.com.
