Westcon-Comstor And Ericsson Expand Enterprise Wireless Distribution Across Asia-Pacific

Technology distributor Westcon-Comstor has expanded its agreement with Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions across Asia-Pacific, adding Ericsson Private 5G to the portfolio it already sells in the region.

The distributor, which covers cybersecurity, networking and hybrid cloud, has worked with Ericsson in APAC since 2022.

It distributes Ericsson’s enterprise wireless solutions in markets including Australia and New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.

Until now, that work centred on Ericsson’s Wireless WAN products, including NetCloud and Ericsson Cradlepoint routers.

Under the expanded agreement, Westcon-Comstor will also distribute Ericsson Private 5G across APAC, in line with Ericsson’s growth plans for the region.

The company says the move lets organisations innovate, operate and scale without connectivity constraints.

The two product lines combine public and private 5G networks for partners and customers. According to the distributor, the expansion broadens its international coverage of Ericsson’s enterprise wireless range.

The agreement adds to the pair’s existing partnerships in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Westcon-Comstor says it strengthens both companies’ ability to deliver secure wireless connectivity to enterprises across APAC.

A channel-first approach

The arrangement follows Ericsson’s channel-first go-to-market model, which routes sales through partners rather than selling direct.

Westcon-Comstor is running a programme of partner recruitment, enablement and go-to-market support to help channel partners in the region take up the enterprise wireless opportunity.

Where private 5G fits

Ericsson and Westcon-Comstor are pointing the expanded range at sectors where connectivity underpins day-to-day operations, including public safety, emergency services, smart cities and critical infrastructure.

The companies say private 5G is opening options for organisations that run in environments where reliability, resilience and security matter.

Julie Hens, Senior Vice President for Global Distribution Partners at Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions, framed the expansion as a way to reach more partners.
