Vocus, Australia’s digital infrastructure provider, has unveiled Vocus Collaborate, a unified communications platform built on Zoom, which includes powerful Ai capabilities at no extra charge across all plans.
The new service addresses the growing demand for Ai tools in workplaces. With 88 per cent of non-technical employees already using some form of generative Ai at work, according to McKinsey, and research from Asana indicating that 60 per cent of a worker’s time is spent on repetitive tasks, the potential for Ai to improve business productivity is significant.
However, many Australian businesses have found the cost of enterprise-level Ai tools prohibitive, with prices reaching upwards of $30 per user per month. This has been a hurdle, particularly as businesses continue to grapple with rising costs in the current economic environment.
Vocus is stepping in with Vocus Collaborate, bundling Zoom’s Ai Companion suite into all plans without increasing the price.

Thadakamalla highlighted that Ai Companion is included in every Vocus Collaborate plan at no additional cost. “This allows Aussie organisations to use Ai to drive productivity without blowing the budget. It’s a game changer for businesses that need to do more with less in the current climate,” he said.
Zoom’s Ai Companion offers a range of tools designed to enhance productivity. These include automatic summaries of meetings, calls, and chat threads, as well as tools for brainstorming, drafting emails, adjusting tone in chat responses, and even helping participants catch up on meetings they’ve joined late. The Ai also offers real-time feedback on presentation skills.

According to benchmarking data, Zoom’s Ai Companion has shown a 20 per cent reduction in meeting summary errors and is nearly four times faster at handling meeting question scenarios compared to other Ai tools. This combination of improved speed and accuracy delivers tangible productivity gains for businesses.
Vocus Collaborate doesn’t just include Ai features. It offers an integrated suite of communication tools, including desk phones, mobile calling, messaging, video meetings, and whiteboarding, all carried on Vocus’ secure, Australia-based network.
Tailored Packages for Different Business Needs
Vocus Collaborate is available in two starter packs designed to cater to different business sizes and needs:
Phone Essentials: A cloud-based phone system with Ai-powered advanced calling features, starting at $20 per user per month.
Complete UC: The full suite of unified communications tools, including video meetings, whiteboarding, and team chat, starting at $42 per user per month.
Both plans include the Zoom Ai Companion functionality, making advanced Ai tools accessible for a wide range of businesses across Australia. Pricing is per user, with a three-year contract. A minimum of five users is required for Phone Essentials, and 10 users for Complete UC.
