Uniting Financial Services (UFS) has shifted its banking operations to Infosys Finacle’s Digital Banking Suite running on AWS cloud, completing the migration from its incumbent platform in five months.
The charitable development fund adopted the Finacle Software-as-a-Service model through the Finacle Australian Reference Bank framework, which includes preconfigured products, processes, compliance rules, and interfaces.
The implementation covered Finacle Core Banking, Digital Engagement Hub, Online Banking, Mobile Banking, Customer Data Hub and Alerts.
Modernising Banking Operations
UFS said the new system will strengthen agility, compliance and efficiency while allowing the fund to deliver enhanced digital services to clients.
The platform will support expansion in investment offerings, deposit growth and commercial loans. It also provides open API capabilities to connect with partners and integrate with other systems.
Cloud-native features enable scaling on demand while leveraging AWS services such as Amazon RDS for databases, Amazon EKS for Kubernetes management and AWS WAF for security.
UFS Perspective
John McComb, Chief Risk Officer and Acting CEO at UFS, said the project was driven by the need to modernise core banking and digital functions.
“We are delighted to announce the successful go-live of the Finacle platform,” McComb said.
“Our goal was to modernise our core banking and digital capabilities to enhance the experience for clients. With Infosys Finacle, we have found a long-term technology partner, with the ability to deliver a future-ready platform that meets the needs of our operations today and supports our ambitions for tomorrow in a rapidly evolving financial services landscape.”
AWS View
Jamie Simon, Director of Banking and Financial Services (A/NZ) at AWS, said the collaboration highlighted the benefits of modern infrastructure.
“Our collaboration with Infosys Finacle demonstrates AWS’s commitment to helping financial institutions modernise and innovate to deliver business value,” Simon said.
“Uniting Financial Services reinforces how AWS’s secure and resilient cloud infrastructure enables financial services organisations to transform their banking operations and enhance digital experiences for customers. We’re proud to support UFS in their mission to deliver purpose-led financial services.”
Infosys Finacle Position
Infosys Finacle CEO, Sajit Vijayakumar, said the rollout shows how community banks can transition quickly without legacy barriers.
“We are delighted to collaborate with Uniting Financial Services on their transformation journey,” Vijayakumar said.
“Going live on Finacle SaaS in record time is a testament to our commitment to modern banking and customer-centric innovation. This rapid deployment underscores the power of a truly digital, cloud-native platform that’s built for agility, compliance, and scale. For community banks in the region looking to modernise without the pain of legacy transformation, this is proof that next-gen banking is not just possible – it’s achievable, fast.”
