Trend Micro Unveils Agentic SIEM To Drive Proactive Security

Surprisingly Useful AI Article Enhancements

Trend Micro has launched a new agentic Ai-powered Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platform aimed at tackling longstanding security operations challenges, including alert fatigue and passive data collection.

The company said the platform, Trend Vision One Agentic SIEM, has been designed from the ground up to use agentic Ai for proactive threat mitigation and faster decision-making.

Addressing SIEM Limitations

According to Trend Micro, traditional SIEMs often suffer from high costs, complexity, alert overload, and reliance on static configurations that cannot keep up with evolving data sources.

“Agentic SIEM is a major stepping stone to our long-term vision for full, Ai-driven SecOps,” said Mick McCluney, ANZ Field CTO at Trend. “It’s a future in which security teams will have more time to work on strategic tasks, safe in the knowledge that our agentic Ai has their backs.”

The company said its Ai-driven approach allows the platform to independently analyse and prioritise alerts, learn from data patterns, and optimise performance without manual intervention.

Key Capabilities

Trend Micro said the new SIEM supports more than 900 data sources since its launch on 1 August, with onboarding for new log types currently taking three days and expected to drop to three hours by 2026.

Other features include:

  • Integration of six native security sensors across endpoint, cloud, email, networks, servers, and identity

  • Ingestion of third-party telemetry for broader visibility

  • Up to seven years of archival data retention and two years of analytic retention for compliance and threat hunting

  • Automated setup processes replacing weeks of manual configuration

Use Cases

The company said the platform is designed for multiple scenarios, including:

  • Threat detection and response through autonomous analysis and anomaly detection

  • Compliance support with extended retention and advanced search

  • Incident investigation using automated correlation across data sources

Dave Gruber, Principal Cybersecurity Analyst at ESG, said the launch comes at a “pivotal time” for the SIEM market. “The security data layer must evolve to support data-hungry agentic capabilities, including infusing agentic Ai into core SIEM functions,” he said.

Digital Twin Integration

Trend Micro also highlighted the potential of integrating Agentic SIEM with its digital twin technology. This, it said, would allow for proactive mitigation of risks in virtual models used in sectors such as healthcare, supply chain management, predictive maintenance, and smart building operations.
