Tanium Named A Leader In Forrester Wave For Endpoint Management Platforms

Tanium has been named a Leader in the Forrester Wave: Endpoint Management Platforms, Q2 2026 report, receiving the highest possible score across 15 criteria including Vision, Innovation and Adoption.

The recognition marks the third such placement from a major analyst firm, following Tanium’s inclusion as a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Management Tools and as a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Client Endpoint Management Software for Windows Device Management 2025-2026 Vendor Assessment.

Harman Kaur, Chief Technology Officer at Tanium (pictured), described the convergence of analyst assessments as a signal the market is recognising the company’s approach.

“When three of the analyst firms reach the same conclusion independently, that’s worth paying attention to,” Kaur noted.

The problem Tanium targets

Kaur pointed to the shrinking window between vulnerability discovery and active exploitation as a driver behind the company’s platform design.

“The time horizon from vulnerability discovery to weaponised exploit is collapsing. Reactive, siloed tools can’t keep up,” Kaur explained.

“Tanium Autonomous IT was built for this moment. It gives an IT or security operator real-time endpoint intelligence, AI-driven decision-making and the ability to move from intent to outcome without the manual handoffs that cost time organisations don’t have.”

“For us, this recognition from Forrester validates why our customers chose the Tanium Autonomous IT Platform,” she added.

What the Forrester report found

The Forrester report noted that Tanium is well suited to enterprises with broad, complex IT and OT endpoint environments that require convergence of IT and security operations.

The report also observed that in 2025, Tanium extended its momentum across vision, innovation and adoption to deliver a platform covering endpoint management, exposure management, security operations and autonomous AI workflows.

Customers surveyed for the report highlighted secure, scalable patching for compliance and real-time endpoint visibility as particular benefits of the platform.

How the platform works

The Tanium Autonomous IT Platform is built on an endpoint data layer that captures information directly from the source and returns answers in seconds. The company describes the data as complete, high-fidelity, real-time and extensible.

Tanium Atlas, the company’s autonomous operating system, is designed to give a single IT or security operator the data, guidance and reach to perform tasks that previously required an entire team. The system aims to compress the path from intent to outcome within a single, governed experience.

Atlas is powered by what Tanium calls ambient agents operating at the system level, which continuously observe the environment and surface relevant information before an operator needs to request it.

Analyst context

The Forrester Wave placement sits alongside Tanium’s recognition in the Gartner Magic Quadrant and IDC MarketScape reports. Taken together, the three analyst assessments cover overlapping but distinct evaluations of the endpoint management market.
