Surprisingly Useful AI Article Enhancements
Taiwanese storage and networking vendor, Synology, is returning to the Australian market with its first local Insight Symposium, an event aimed at IT professionals and executives navigating the practical challenges of preparing enterprise data infrastructure for AI workloads.
The event, titled Synology Insight Symposium 2026: Own Your Stack, Own Your Future, will be held on 17 September at the Shangri-La Sydney. It is targeted at IT professionals, C-level executives and IT decision-makers.
Bridging the gap between AI enthusiasm and data readiness
The symposium is framed around what Synology identifies as a disconnect between the pace of AI adoption and the state of the underlying data infrastructure needed to support it.
Director of International Business at Synology, Joanne Weng, explained: “Through our work with customers and partners across Australia, we’ve seen tremendous enthusiasm around AI, but also a growing gap between the pace of adoption and the data foundations needed to support it.”
“With Synology Insight Symposium, we want to create a platform for industry leaders and peers to openly discuss these shared challenges and exchange practical strategies they can take back to their organisations, helping Australian businesses build a stronger data foundation for what comes next.”
Three themes on the agenda
The programme is structured around three challenges that Synology sees as central to enterprise AI adoption.
The first concerns preparing fragmented enterprise data for AI. Many organisations hold data across multiple platforms and storage tiers, and the quality and accessibility of that data directly affects the usefulness of AI tools built on top of it.
The second theme examines where data and AI workloads should reside, touching on questions of sovereignty, hybrid infrastructure and the trade-offs between cloud and on-premises deployment.
The third focuses on building resilience against cyber threats and disruption, reflecting the growing importance of data protection and recovery capabilities as AI-driven workflows become more embedded in business operations.
Speaker lineup
Weng will deliver the opening remarks, followed by a strategic keynote from Country Manager in ANZ Region at Synology, Jacqueline Graciella.
The programme will also feature industry perspectives from Editor in Chief at Pixntx, Nate Cochrane, and Chief Technology Officer at the Heart Research Institute, Johan Sulaiman. Synology has indicated that additional panellists will be confirmed ahead of the event.
First local event signals renewed Australian focus
The symposium represents Synology’s first dedicated event in Australia, signalling a renewed push into the local market.
Weng added: “We’re looking forward to welcoming Australia’s IT community to the first Synology Insight Symposium. This event is about bringing people together to exchange perspectives, learn from real-world experiences and have meaningful conversations about what comes next. We invite IT leaders and professionals across Australia to join us in Sydney, share their perspectives and be part of the conversation.”
Synology Insight Symposium 2026 is open for registration. Details and registration are available on the official registration page.
