Starlink to Power Oracle Enterprise Platform

Surprisingly Useful AI Article Enhancements

Oracle is integrating Starlink’s satellite connectivity into its Enterprise Communications Platform (ECP) to enhance high-speed communications for customers using its industry applications. The collaboration aims to provide reliable connectivity, including in remote locations where traditional infrastructure is limited.

Expanding Connectivity Options

Oracle ECP enables secure management of cloud applications by unifying fixed, mobile, and satellite networks. With Starlink’s integration, customers across more than 100 countries can access broadband connectivity, allowing for real-time data transfer and enhanced cloud-based operations.

Jason Fritch, SpaceX’s vice president of Starlink Enterprise Sales, said the technology is particularly beneficial for industries operating in areas where infrastructure challenges have historically limited connectivity.

“Starlink provides reliable high-speed connectivity for those in areas where it has been historically difficult due to lack of infrastructure or natural obstacles,” Fritch said. “Providing fast and secure broadband to all corners of the world will help Oracle expand the reach of cloud technology and real-time information for its customers.”

Supporting Critical Industries

The demand for real-time connectivity is growing across industries such as healthcare, construction, utilities, hospitality, and the public sector. Oracle ECP, built on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, supports connected devices, IoT endpoints, and mobile applications while securing networks against misuse or failure.

Andrew Morawski, executive vice president and general manager of Oracle Communications, said the collaboration ensures mission-critical operations can continue even in challenging environments.

“By adding Starlink’s proven performance and expansive network to our established network relationships, we’re powering ubiquitous IoT connectivity, safeguarding mission-critical operations, and protecting data integrity during emergencies,” Morawski said. “Together, we’re creating the intelligent communications foundation that will accelerate business transformation across industries.”

For the healthcare sector, the platform’s capabilities can provide hospitals and rural clinics with access to cloud-based clinical applications. Public safety agencies can also use the service to keep first responders connected, even in areas with limited mobile coverage.

Enhancing Application Uptime

Oracle ECP’s architecture includes redundant backhaul connectivity, ensuring that critical applications remain operational even if the primary connection is disrupted. The Oracle Cloud Connector edge component allows for remote hosting and management of video and audio applications, supporting use cases that require real-time data transfer.
