Splunk has announced the general availability of its enterprise security, observability, and platform solutions on Microsoft Azure. This collaboration allows organisations to integrate Splunk’s capabilities into Azure, supporting digital transformation efforts with a focus on resilience and security.

The partnership between Splunk and Microsoft enables businesses to scale operations with unified tools for data analysis, detection, and response. By building Splunk solutions natively on Azure, the companies aim to offer customers improved flexibility and performance in hybrid-cloud environments.

Splunk and Microsoft Strengthen Digital Resilience

Splunk’s Senior Vice President, Tom Casey, emphasised the importance of the partnership in addressing customer needs. “Building Splunk natively on Azure reflects our dedication to helping organisations strengthen their digital resilience,” he said. “This collaboration integrates enterprise data to deliver hybrid-cloud solutions that meet customers where they are on their transformation journey.”

Splunk Cloud Platform, Splunk Enterprise Security, and Splunk IT Service Intelligence are now accessible on Azure. These offerings leverage Splunk’s machine learning and data processing capabilities to enhance visibility, streamline detection and investigation, and optimise response strategies.

Supporting Innovation and Security

The availability of Splunk on Azure provides existing customers with the option to migrate from self-managed or on-premises deployments. This transition allows businesses to focus resources on strategic initiatives instead of managing infrastructure.

“Customers with a Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC) can also apply their commitment to Splunk solutions, adding value to their existing Azure investment,” Casey added.

Deb Cupp, President of Microsoft Americas, highlighted the alignment of goals between the two organisations. “Splunk and Microsoft share a commitment to supporting organisations in the Ai era. This partnership helps customers accelerate innovation and enhance their security posture, enabling them to achieve digital resilience.”

Key Benefits of Splunk on Azure

The integration of Splunk with Azure offers several benefits:

  • Simpler administration: Splunk manages the IT backend, allowing customers to focus on data insights and new use cases.

  • Reduced infrastructure demands: The solution eliminates the need for self-managed infrastructure, providing a cloud-based and scalable analytics platform.

  • Lower total cost of ownership: Customers save on administrative and overhead costs, as well as expenses related to managing private data centres or public cloud infrastructure.

  • Enhanced security: Splunk delivers consistent updates to improve security and maintain compliance.

Expert Insights on the Partnership

Michelle Abraham, Research Director for Security and Trust at IDC, commented on the value of the alliance. “Splunk and Microsoft empower large organisations to scale Ai transformation efforts while maintaining visibility across complex IT stacks. This collaboration simplifies infrastructure, strengthens security, and reduces costs, making it a valuable offering for enterprises.”

General Availability and Next Steps

Splunk’s solutions are now available through the Microsoft Azure Marketplace. Organisations can explore these tools to optimise security and observability in their Azure environments.
