Sony is set to host its inaugural Scene Tradeshow at the White Bay Power Station in Rozelle, Sydney, on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 of September. This event, focusing on Sony’s digital imaging products and technology, promises to be a significant gathering for enthusiasts across various fields.
The Scene Tradeshow will offer a comprehensive experience with guest speakers, product showcases, and a hands-on environment. The event is open to the public, making it accessible to camera hobbyists, students, professionals, and business owners involved in photography, filmmaking, or content creation.
Sony’s event is an opportunity to delve into the world of digital imaging. Visitors can explore the capabilities of Sony’s cameras and lenses while being inspired by the photographic and filmmaking talent in Australia and New Zealand.
The Tradeshow is an extension of Scene, Sony’s online platform that connects creators, photographers, and filmmakers through various activities. These include photo walks, film sequence workshops, and advanced skill-building sessions.
Interactive Zones for Exploration
The Scene Tradeshow will feature several interactive zones, each offering a unique experience. Visitors can engage with a Photography Zone, Cinema Zone, Play Zone, an image gallery, and a pop-up cinema. These zones will host the Alpha Awards photography competition, screen finalist films from Sony’s Catchlight Film Festival, and offer workshops and masterclasses.
The Photography Zone will showcase popular models such as the ZV-E1, Alpha 7C II, Alpha 7R V, and the Alpha 1. Through demonstrations and visual installations, attendees can experience the performance of Sony’s cameras and lenses. The Alpha 7R V, with its pixel-shift multi-shoot mode, will allow attendees to experiment with high-resolution features to achieve the perfect shot.
An “arena of action” will host high-intensity moments, giving attendees a chance to experience the speed of cameras like the Alpha 9 III. A light installation will provide an immersive experience, allowing visitors to observe the effects of different light temperatures on the mood and emotion of a scene.
Cinema and Play Zones
The Cinema Zone will replicate a film set, complete with lighting and Sony’s high-end cinema cameras. Attendees can see firsthand what goes into creating a cinematic scene, with a live relay showcasing the filming process. The zone will also feature a small-scale cinema screening Catchlight Film Festival movies and a BRAVIA TV demo space set up as a modern living room.
In the Play Zone, attendees can take advantage of a complimentary sensor clean for their cameras at the express service station. They can also borrow Vlogging cameras and accessories to document their Tradeshow experience.
A Lounge Zone will be available for those looking to recharge, network, or enjoy the latest Sony PlayStation games. This area will offer a relaxed environment for conversation and rest.
Hands-On Technology
Over 100 unique Sony products will be available for attendees to experience. This includes the entire Sony Alpha full-frame camera lineup, the Cinema Line camera lineup, all G Master lenses, newly released Sony and G-branded lenses, and various Sony camera accessories. Sony BRAVIA TV displays will also be featured, completing the “lens to living room” concept.
At the heart of the Scene Tradeshow will be the Sony Hub, where attendees can find information on talks, directions, and general enquiries. The sales team will be on hand for those interested in purchasing products at special Tradeshow pricing. Limited-edition Scene Tradeshow merchandise will also be available.
The Sony Scene Tradeshow will take place on Saturday 28 September 2024 and Sunday 29 September 2024 from 9am to 5pm at the White Bay Power Station, Robert Street, Rozelle, NSW 2039.
