Raymond Schippers, Head of Detection and Response at Canva, explained the company’s security concerns. “We have everything in the cloud and our workers are all agile, so we need to make sure that our endpoints are really well protected and our workloads are secure. That means being able to quickly and easily determine what applications are installed on our developers’ machines and throughout our entire environment, and if there are any vulnerabilities, act swiftly to remediate and mitigate them.”

Canva has turned to SentinelOne’s advanced security capabilities to address these challenges. Schippers emphasized the importance of visibility and control in threat detection and response. While prevention is the primary goal, no system can be 100% foolproof. Thus, having a comprehensive understanding of the environment and the ability to query and respond to threats rapidly are crucial.

SentinelOne’s Singularity XDR platform offers a unified solution that enables companies to eliminate blind spots, detect stealthy attacks, enrich threats with integrated threat intelligence, automate responses, integrate with other technologies, and scale security operations. Schippers praised SentinelOne’s enhanced visibility across their fleet, noting that the platform can identify compliance violations and uncover new use cases for different software applications.

One of the standout features of Singularity XDR is its ability to ingest data from any technology product or platform, whether it’s structured, unstructured, or semi-structured. Schippers highlighted the platform’s compatibility across multiple operating systems, including Mac, Windows, and Linux. This capability has been immensely beneficial to Canva’s security engineers, as they no longer need to worry about limitations or visibility gaps on different platforms. The reliable feed of endpoint data through the Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) system allows for rapid response to attacks, regardless of the platform involved.

Schippers praised the seamless deployment of SentinelOne’s Singularity XDR at Canva, stating that it has been a straightforward process. He emphasized the platform’s critical role in Canva’s ongoing security strategy, especially as attacks continue to grow more sophisticated. Schippers firmly believes that SentinelOne will be an important partner in scaling up Canva’s security capabilities and staying ahead of future threats.
