Seagate has launched its new 24TB IronWolf Pro hard drives, aimed at meeting the data demands of small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and enterprise network-attached storage (NAS) environments. This latest addition to the IronWolf Pro portfolio offers capacities ranging from 2TB to 24TB, designed to scale with the needs of growing businesses.

The new IronWolf Pro drives are engineered for continuous operation in multi-bay and multi-user collaborative environments. They offer sustained transfer rates of 285MB/s and boast a user workload rating of up to 550TB per year. The drives also feature a mean time between failures (MTBF) of 2.5 million hours, emphasizing their reliability and durability.

Seagate’s IronWolf Pro drives are optimized for NAS systems through the use of AgileArray technology. This technology includes dual-plane balancing and time-limited error recovery (TLER), which enhances performance in multi-bay systems. The drives also come equipped with built-in rotational vibration (RV) sensors and dual-plane balancing, designed to mitigate vibrations and ensure consistent performance and reliability.

The IronWolf Pro drives are further supported by Seagate’s IronWolf Health Management system, which provides data protection through prevention, intervention, and recovery recommendations. This system is compatible with select NAS systems, offering enhanced protection for users’ data. Additionally, the drives come with a five-year limited warranty and three years of Seagate Rescue Data Recovery Services.

Discussing the new release, a Seagate spokesperson highlighted the drives’ suitability for a range of applications, noting that they are “built to support the growing data needs of businesses.” They added, “The IronWolf Pro 24TB hard drive is designed for those who require reliable, high-capacity storage solutions.”

The IronWolf Pro 24TB hard drives are available now, with a retail price of $649. These drives are positioned as a key solution for businesses looking to enhance their data storage capabilities while ensuring data integrity and reliability.
