Schneider Electric, a leading digital transformation, energy management and automation company, has announced the appointment of Asaf Ahmad as the new Senior Cybersecurity Governance Officer for the Pacific Zone. With his recent commencement in this role, Asaf will play a crucial part in Schneider Electric’s Cybersecurity Governance, Risk, and Compliance division, focusing on minimizing risk and enhancing cybersecurity capabilities across the organization.
Bringing over 35 years of experience to the table, along with a Master of Technology in Management and Systems and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Asaf will be responsible for leading, reviewing, and improving Schneider Electric’s cybersecurity posture. His expertise will contribute to the strategic vision of the business while ensuring the protection and management of cybersecurity risks for Schneider Electric, its customers, and other stakeholders.
Expressing his excitement about his new role, Asaf Ahmad stated, “I am thrilled to be joining the Pacific Zone team and looking forward to leveraging my previous experience to deliver the business’ strategic vision, while protecting and managing cybersecurity risks to Schneider Electric, its customers, and other stakeholders.”
Prior to joining Schneider Electric, Asaf held positions in both the private and government sectors, where he focused on implementing information security management systems. Notably, he has worked in the oil and gas industry, gaining expertise in system engineering, digital technologies, and advanced control in refineries. He has also served as the Chief Information Security Officer at Fire & Rescue NSW.

In addition to his role at Schneider Electric, Asaf continues to serve as the president of the board of directors for the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA). He has made significant contributions to cyber security professional leadership and certifications, addressing the industry’s emerging cybersecurity needs and building a cyber-safe ecosystem. Furthermore, Asaf volunteers as the NSW Cyber Security Ambassador for Investment NSW, where he actively encourages young people to join the cyber security sector, addressing the talent shortage and promoting the growth of this exciting industry.
