Salto, a key player in electronic access control, has announced the launch of the Salto Foundation, an initiative dedicated to promoting social inclusion and community development through sport. The foundation, launched today, aims to make a significant impact across Australia and internationally by using sport as a tool to foster inclusive environments and break down barriers.

Longstanding Commitment to Social Initiatives

Salto’s commitment to social and environmental initiatives dates back over 20 years with the creation of Free2Move.org, a platform supporting social and sports-based initiatives. This long-term commitment has now evolved with the formation of the Salto Foundation, which represents the company’s ongoing dedication to creating positive change through structured support for community and social projects.

Frederik Troester, Salto’s General Manager for Oceania, described the foundation’s purpose: “We are excited to launch this important initiative in Australia and globally. The Salto Foundation is committed to creating a more inclusive world. Through sport, we want to help foster inclusion and build connections between people, regardless of physical capability.”

Troester highlighted the foundation’s alignment with Salto’s expanding global presence, noting, “As our company grows, so does our commitment to society, strengthening our shared vision of what we can achieve worldwide. Establishing the Salto Foundation allows us to deepen our impact.”

Australian Team’s Early Contributions

Salto’s Australian team has already contributed to the foundation’s goals, actively participating in local sporting events to raise funds for social causes. Staff have taken part in the Bridge to Brisbane Fun Run, the Nike Melbourne Marathon, and the 2XU Melbourne Triathlon, collectively raising over $11,000 for Paralympics Australia. This involvement reflects the team’s enthusiasm and support for the foundation’s objectives.

The foundation’s mission focuses on making sports accessible to all, aiming to provide individuals with opportunities to participate fully in society and pursue personal success. Salto’s objective is to ensure that no one is excluded, and that social inclusion becomes a driving force for sustainable development, with a central focus on empowering people.

Sports as a Catalyst for Change

Troester explained how the foundation sees sports as more than just physical activity. “We believe that sports are a powerful tool for building connections, fostering social inclusion, and breaking down barriers. By promoting teamwork, respect, and solidarity, the Salto Foundation aims to strengthen social bonds, reduce inequality, and offer pathways for integration and social mobility.”

By creating spaces where people from all backgrounds can thrive, the foundation aims to support individuals facing vulnerable situations, offering safe environments that encourage personal growth and community cohesion.

Setting Standards for Corporate Social Responsibility

As a financially reinforced entity, the Salto Foundation intends to set new standards in corporate social responsibility and impact investing. By collaborating with non-governmental organisations and assisting individuals and communities in overcoming social challenges, the foundation is working toward building a fairer and more cohesive society. It plans to focus on sports, health, and education to support the socialisation and integration of underprivileged youth and people with disabilities.

The Salto Foundation’s goals align with broader societal objectives, such as advancing the well-being and social mobility of disadvantaged groups, and it hopes to inspire other corporate leaders to adopt similar initiatives.
