Surprisingly Useful AI Article Enhancements
Rokt, an eCommerce technology company that uses AI to personalise transactions for shoppers, has appointed two Commercial Executives to its Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) team.
Miles McDermott and Tirion Reid (main image) join the business as the company continues to invest in the ANZ market, building out the commercial team responsible for securing new partnerships and expanding its footprint across the region’s retailers and brands.
Agency and brand-side expertise
McDermott arrives at Rokt after spending eight years at IPG Mediabrands, one of the larger global media agency networks, where he worked across EMEA and APAC markets.

During his time at the agency group, he structured multi-market capital investment deals with Australian and global media owners, helping expand their capabilities while connecting the value of those deals to commercial and product challenges faced by the agencies’ clients.
That experience has given him a view from both sides of the media table – how media networks build and price new products, and how brands navigate the complexity of getting cross-market, cross-department projects across the line.
Reid joins from Mars United Commerce ANZ, where she served as eCommerce Manager, overseeing eCommerce strategy, digital shelf and retail media across ANZ markets.
She previously held eCommerce media and content roles at Nestlé and account management positions at Ferrero and Mars in the UK, where she worked closely with retail partners including Tesco.
Her client-side background gives her a perspective on the commercial challenges and measurable outcomes that Rokt’s customers are navigating, particularly as brands look to turn the point of transaction into a revenue and engagement opportunity.
Sharper questions from retailers
Rokt’s Head of APAC, Michael Dunlop, explained that the appointments reflect the company’s focus on delivering commercial outcomes for its customers.
“Every hire we make in ANZ comes back to one thing: the outcomes we deliver for our customers,” Dunlop commented. “Miles and Tirion join at a moment when retailers and brands across the region are asking sharper questions about where their media investment actually drives commerce outcomes.”
“Miles brings a first-hand understanding of how retailers and media intersect and Tirion brings real operating experience from the brand side at businesses like Mars and Nestlé. Together, they’ll help us go deeper with the customers we already work with and bring the Transaction Moment to even more of ANZ’s retailers and brands.”
Translating media investment into growth
McDermott pointed to his experience in challenging how clients and agencies evaluate media investment as a direct fit for the role.
“I’ve built my career challenging how clients and agencies evaluate and commit to media investment opportunities, and that inside knowledge translates directly into revenue growth, winning budgets, building strong relationships and closing multi-stakeholder new business deals,” he remarked. “I’m excited to bring that experience to Rokt as it scales across ANZ.”
Reid, meanwhile, highlighted the gap between customer relevance and advertising noise as a motivating factor in her move.
“Having spent my career on the brand side at businesses like Mars and Nestlé, I know how hard it is to make every customer interaction feel genuinely relevant rather than just another ad,” Reid noted. “That’s what drew me to Rokt – the chance to help retailers and brands turn the moment of purchase into real value for their customers, not just another impression. I’m looking forward to bringing that perspective to Rokt’s customers across ANZ.”

Scaling across the region
Rokt’s AI-powered platform, developed over the past 12 years, processes billions of global transactions annually for companies including David Jones, Live Nation, Dan Murphy’s, The Iconic, PayPal, Uber and HelloFresh.
The company is headquartered in New York City and operates across North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
The ANZ appointments are part of a broader push by Rokt to scale its commercial operations in the region, as retailers and brands increasingly scrutinise the return on their media investments and seek technology partners that can demonstrate measurable results at the point of transaction.
