Surprisingly Useful AI Article Enhancements
Riverbed has announced a partnership with Intel to extend visibility into peripheral devices using Intel Thunderbolt and Wi-Fi technologies. This new solution, introduced at Riverbed’s EMPOWEREDx event, aims to improve the user experience by combining Riverbed Aternity’s advanced analytics with Intel Connectivity Analytics.
This collaboration allows IT teams to gain a deeper level of observability into devices equipped with Intel Thunderbolt and Wi-Fi, helping organisations manage device performance more effectively and deliver a better digital experience for users.
Expanding Observability Beyond the PC
Dave Donatelli, CEO of Riverbed, unveiled the new solution at EMPOWEREDx, stating, “We’re excited to expand observability beyond the PC into connected devices with Intel Thunderbolt and Wi-Fi technologies. This gives IT teams the visibility they need across the device ecosystem, helping to enhance digital experiences for employees.”
Donatelli pointed out that the solution addresses the challenges IT teams face when they lack insight into peripheral devices, which can lead to prolonged troubleshooting times and frustration for users.
The new offering integrates Intel Connectivity Analytics software with Riverbed Aternity’s platform. This combination enables organisations to capture critical telemetry from devices with Intel Thunderbolt and Wi-Fi technologies, extending observability to areas that were previously difficult to monitor.
New Levels of Visibility
Eric McLaughlin, Vice President and General Manager of Intel’s Connectivity Solutions Group, expressed Intel’s enthusiasm for the partnership, saying, “By integrating Intel Connectivity Analytics with Riverbed’s analytics and telemetry, we’re providing IT teams with the insights they need to optimise digital experiences and resolve issues before they impact end users.”
McLaughlin emphasised that the integration is aimed at improving how organisations manage device performance, particularly as workplaces become more reliant on high-performance computing technologies.
Enhancing IT Management and Employee Experience
Laptops and desktops with Intel processors, along with Thunderbolt and Wi-Fi technologies, have become essential tools for employees across industries. However, until now, many organisations lacked the ability to see real-time performance data for connected devices like keyboards, monitors, and storage devices.
The new Riverbed Aternity module for Intel Thunderbolt and Wi-Fi addresses this gap by offering advanced telemetry that captures data on performance, configurations, and other key metrics. This allows IT teams to proactively monitor and resolve issues, improving the overall user experience for employees relying on these devices.
Key Features of Riverbed Aternity for Intel Thunderbolt and Wi-Fi
The solution comes with a range of features designed to help IT teams optimise device performance:
- Telemetry Source: Powered by Intel Connectivity Analytics, the new module collects deep telemetry from devices equipped with Intel Thunderbolt and Wi-Fi. This data provides insight into critical metrics and events, giving IT teams the ability to monitor device health in real time.
- Advanced Analytics and Automation: Riverbed Aternity offers advanced analytics to address employee experience challenges. This includes intuitive dashboards that display real-time events and pre-built remediations, such as driver updates and network optimisations, to resolve issues quickly.
Bob Laliberte, Principal Analyst at theCUBE Research, highlighted the importance of extending observability to connected devices. “By collaborating with Intel, Riverbed is enabling organisations to manage user experiences across a broader range of devices. This will drive higher productivity and simplify troubleshooting activities,” he said.
Digital Employee Experience Tools and Future Availability
With this new solution, Riverbed Aternity becomes the first platform to provide visibility into Thunderbolt peripheral devices and PCs using Intel Wi-Fi. Aternity’s Ai-enabled insights help IT teams monitor device performance and take action based on real-time data, improving both user satisfaction and IT efficiency.
The new connectivity module is part of Riverbed’s Unified Agent and will be available in Q4 2024 on a limited basis, with general availability expected in early 2025. For more information, visit https://www.riverbed.com/intel/.
