Surprisingly Useful AI Article Enhancements
Reolink has expanded its smart security offering with an on-device Ai hub, a flagship triple-lens 24 MP camera, a new solar floodlight camera and a battery-powered range of doorbells and cameras built on Qualcomm’s low-power chipsets.
Unveiled at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, the new lineup marks a shift towards localised Ai processing and long-life, low-maintenance surveillance options.
Ai Box Brings Local Processing To Existing Cameras
The Reolink Ai Box is an on-device hub powered by Qualcomm’s Dragonwing Q8 Series chip. It handles detection, analysis and search locally, without requiring cloud uploads.
Jarryd Tuyau, Ai Lead APAC at Genesys, said this approach helps businesses shift from experimental deployments to outcome-driven systems.
“When organisations invest in a strong foundation, Ai becomes less of an experiment and more of a partner that can help shape intuitive, personalised and empathetic experiences,” Tuyau said.
Designed as a plug-and-play accessory, the Ai Box works with most Reolink cameras and NVRs (excluding 4G models), enabling older devices to take advantage of newer Ai features.
These include natural language prompt alerts like “man climbing a fence” or “trash bin in backyard is full”, event descriptions with security grading from L1 to L4, and Smart Summary visualisations based on Ai-detected footage.
Reolink has also integrated a local video search function called Local Ai Video Search+ that improves accuracy when scanning recordings.
OMVI Series Combines Panoramic And PTZ Views
Leading the new camera range is the OMVI Series of triple-lens security cameras, headlined by the 24 MP OMVI X16 PoE, which was named a CES 2026 Innovation Awards Honoree.
The OMVI X16 PoE combines a 16 MP panoramic lens with an 8 MP PTZ unit capable of 16x optical zoom. The system allows for both wide-angle monitoring and detailed close-ups, simultaneously.
It supports 360-degree horizontal panning, 140-degree vertical rotation and tilt adjustment, allowing the camera to follow motion automatically. Users can view both the panoramic and zoomed-in views side-by-side in the Reolink app or desktop client.
With synchronised smart tracking, the PTZ lens locks onto a detected subject and continues tracking even after the person or object leaves the panoramic view.
Users can also tap any area of the panoramic image to redirect the zoom lens and set custom patrol schedules or one-tap scans.
Reolink has also introduced 18 MP OMVI 3i variants in both Wi-Fi and PoE configurations.
Battery Cameras Aim For Longer Runtime
In partnership with Qualcomm, Reolink has rolled out a new line of compact battery-powered cameras and doorbells.

These devices use Qualcomm’s Micro Power Wi-Fi QCC730 chip, delivering up to 96 per cent longer battery life than the industry average, according to Reolink.
The company is targeting users seeking wire-free installation and longer intervals between charges.
Solar Floodlight Cam Charges With One Hour Of Sunlight
The new 4 MP Solar Floodlight Cam includes an integrated 3W solar panel and a 1,000-lumen floodlight. It offers a 150-degree wide-angle view and operates wire-free.
Reolink said the unit can fully operate with around one hour of direct sunlight per day and run for up to three months on a full charge without further solar input.
The camera adds to Reolink’s growing floodlight range, sitting alongside the Elite Floodlight Wi-Fi and the TrackFlex Floodlight Wi-Fi launched at IFA 2025.
