Pharmx Expands To 99 Per Cent Of Pharmacies Across Australia And New Zealand
Pharmx Technologies has confirmed a strategic partnership with Toniq, a provider of pharmacy point-of-sale and dispensary software solutions in New Zealand.
Toniq, part of the global healthcare technology group Clanwilliam, supports over 900 pharmacies and holds an estimated 85 per cent market share in New Zealand’s pharmacy software sector.
Streamlining Pharmacy Operations
The partnership enables pharmacies using Toniq’s point-of-sale network to migrate to Pharmx Gateway, an electronic data interchange platform that facilitates real-time inventory ordering, automated eInvoice generation, and supplier connectivity.
Pharmx Technologies Chief Executive Officer Tom Culver said the expansion will improve efficiency for pharmacies across New Zealand.
“The Pharmx Gateway has improved supply chains in our existing markets, and we are pleased to introduce this innovation to New Zealand through a strategic partnership with an industry leader,” Culver said.
“Together, Pharmx and Toniq aim to empower pharmacists by reducing the workload associated with manual ordering and inventory management, allowing them to focus on patient care. Expanding Pharmx services to new regions supports more pharmacies and suppliers in adopting a technology-driven approach to inventory and order management.”
Pharmx Gateway is designed to reduce errors in pharmacy operations by automating inventory management. Features include e-invoice generation and direct supplier connectivity, minimising administrative tasks and improving transaction workflows across the supply chain.
The system has been shown to save pharmacies an average of 40 minutes per order, which over a year could equate to the workload of a full-time employee. Suppliers using Pharmx Gateway save an average of 15 minutes per order in processing time.
Widening Market Reach
The partnership expands Pharmx’s reach to 99 per cent of pharmacies in New Zealand, bringing its total coverage across Australia and New Zealand to the same level.
Toniq highlighted the collaboration as a step towards modernising pharmacy management.
“Toniq is dedicated to improving the efficiency of pharmacy operations. By integrating Toniq’s management software with Pharmx’s ordering solutions, we are creating a seamless and user-friendly system for pharmacies,” a Toniq representative said.
“Together, Toniq and Pharmx are focused on delivering technology that supports pharmacies in providing the best possible care for their patients.”
The financial impact of the partnership has not yet been determined, but Pharmx said the agreement strengthens its position as a leading provider of pharmacy ordering networks.
This announcement has been authorised for release by the Board of Pharmx Technologies Limited.
