PAX Aus has detailed the lineup for its tabletop hall at this year’s event, with eBay Australia returning as the presenting partner and a broad roster of card game publishers and distributors set to exhibit.

The Melbourne gaming festival, which runs from 9 to 11 October at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, will feature what organisers describe as the event’s largest tabletop area to date. Distributors and publishers including Let’s Play Games, Modern Brands and Asmodee will bring trading card games, tabletop franchises and new releases to the show floor.

eBay returns with a new live format

eBay Australia is back as the PAX Aus Tabletop sponsor for a second consecutive year. This time, the company is expanding its footprint with the debut of eBay Live at the event.

The centrepiece of eBay’s presence will be The Collectors Club Studio, featuring special guests, live streams and giveaways across the weekend. Attendees will also be able to pick up a Collectors Club Card and complete challenges throughout PAX to unlock prizes.

Country Manager at eBay Live Australia, Alaister Low, described the partnership as a natural fit for the platform’s collector community.

“At eBay, we’re dedicated to bringing collectors together, and with one of Australia’s most passionate collecting communities under one roof, there’s no better place than the Tabletop Hall at PAX to celebrate the hobby,” Low explained.

“As presenting partner for the second year, we’re proud to expand our presence with the introduction of The Collectors Club Studio, bringing the excitement of eBay Live to PAX for the first time. We can’t wait to welcome the PAX community and celebrate everything that makes collecting so special,” he added.

Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons

Wizards of the Coast is returning to PAX Aus with both Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons.

Magic: The Gathering will feature a tabletop presence built around its latest set, Reality Fracture, which introduces alternate versions of existing characters and spells. The booth will include a Learn to Play area, special play events, a retail shop and guest artist appearances.

A live Commander Showdown is scheduled for Saturday 10 October in the Main Theatre, featuring international and Australian MTG creators.

On the Dungeons & Dragons side, a dedicated branded retail experience will showcase products and accessories in collaboration with Let’s Play Games.

Riftbound returns for a second year

Riftbound: League of Legends Trading Card Game is returning to PAX Aus after debuting at last year’s event. Set in the League of Legends universe and featuring champions and regions from Runeterra, the game will offer hands-on play sessions with experienced staff on hand to teach newcomers.

Asmodee brings a wide lineup

Asmodee will exhibit a broad range of tabletop titles and new releases, including Star Wars: Unlimited – Homeworlds, Cyberpunk Edgerunners: Hunted, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers Trick-Taking Game, Citadels Duel and Schadenfreude from Z-Man Games.

The publisher is also bringing a string of titles from Exploding Kittens, including Sell Me a Sasquatch, Exploding Kittens: Curse You, Flat Earth, I Suck at Drawing, Berry Cherry Parrot Punch, Exploding Kittens Rage Mode, 9 Lives and Boba Blast.

Attendees will be able to try hands-on demos of LEGO NINJAGO, K-Pop Demon Hunters: Battle for the Spotlight and Hellbreak, a new horror trading card game. Scheduled tournaments for Hellbreak on Friday and Star Wars: Unlimited on Saturday will give players the chance to compete.

Fans will also be able to meet Australian game designers Jay Bendixen, Ryan Boucher, Natalie Delaney-John and Cam Jasson during special sessions for Gretchen’s Garden and That Dicey Word Game.

Bandai, Flesh and Blood and Cyberpunk CCG

Bandai Card Games will bring a lineup spanning anime and entertainment franchises, with attendees able to learn and play One Piece Card Game, Dragon Ball Super Card Game Fusion World, Digimon Card Game and Gundam Card Game. Guided learn-to-play sessions will run throughout the weekend alongside organised play events and tournaments.

Flesh and Blood will also be on the show floor, with introductory sessions for new players and scheduled tournaments for experienced competitors. The hero-versus-hero trading card game has continued to grow as a competitive TCG.

Cyberpunk CCG will offer learn-to-play sessions and organised tournaments across all three days, catering to both casual and competitive players.

Disney Lorcana and more

Modern Brands will bring Disney Lorcana to PAX Aus, alongside a broader game lineup focused on fandom-driven play and collectible culture. Further titles are expected to be confirmed ahead of the event.
