Surprisingly Useful AI Article Enhancements
Palo Alto Networks has teamed up with Cyberlite to release a new education resource designed to help students safely navigate the fast-growing use of generative Ai.
The Ai Safety in the Classroom Toolkit is being positioned as a modular resource aimed at teachers, parents and community instructors who are not necessarily experts in technology. The companies said the initiative reflects a broader push to equip young people with critical thinking skills to recognise risks such as bias, deepfakes and online manipulation.
Addressing Emerging Threats
Palo Alto Networks pointed to findings from its Unit 42 research group which show how Ai is rapidly reshaping cyber threats. The latest Global Incident Response Report identifies social engineering as one of the most common ways attackers gain access, and said that generative Ai is making scams harder to detect.
“Equipping students to recognise and resist these Ai-driven manipulations is critical to protecting the human factor in security,” the company said in its launch statement.
Building On Existing Partnerships
The toolkit builds on a longstanding collaboration between Palo Alto Networks and Cyberlite. The two organisations have already distributed more than 100,000 copies of the “Ready, Get Set, Connect!” cybersafety workbook to schools across Asia Pacific.
Cyberlite Co-Founder Michelle Yao said the new project is designed to give schools immediate, practical tools.
“Our partnership with Palo Alto Networks represents a significant leap forward in our shared mission to empower the next generation with the skills to navigate the complexities of the digital world,” Yao said.
“The Ai Safety in the Classroom Toolkit is a direct response to the urgent need for practical, accessible resources that empower educators in the classroom, teaching students the critical thinking skills needed to be safe and ethical Ai users. This collaboration reinforces our belief that cyber safety is a shared responsibility, and by working together, we can build a more secure digital future for all.”
Easy To Use Resources
Lisa Sim, Vice President Marketing for Asia-Pacific and Japan and Director of the CyberFit Nation program at Palo Alto Networks, said the toolkit was designed with ease of use in mind.
“The Ai Safety in the Classroom Toolkit is designed to empower educators, parents and community instructors who are not cybersecurity or Ai experts,” Sim said.
“The materials are intentionally easy to use, making it simple for them to integrate these vital learning resources into the education curriculum.”
Practical Lessons
The toolkit contains 30-minute modular lessons that focus on building critical thinking and awareness. It covers the foundations of generative Ai and prompt engineering, how to recognise bias, detect deepfakes and digital clones, and understand the influence of recommendation engines on privacy and personalisation.
The resource is being released in both English and Bahasa Indonesia, with the companies highlighting their intent to make the program widely available across the region.
Next Steps
Palo Alto Networks said the launch forms part of its broader social impact strategy, which focuses on education as a cornerstone of digital safety.
