Nvidia Rolls Out DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution And App Update

Surprisingly Useful AI Article Enhancements

Nvidia has released DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution across its ecosystem, making the upgrade available to all users via the Nvidia app. The update introduces a second-generation transformer model aimed at improving image quality across more than 400 games and applications that support DLSS Super Resolution.

Users can access the upgrade through an auto-update in the Nvidia app or download it manually.

DLSS 4.5 Introduces New Transformer Model

The key change in DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution is the use of a second-generation transformer Ai model that Nvidia says is five times more computationally powerful than its predecessor. The model was trained on a higher-fidelity dataset, which is designed to enhance image clarity, colour accuracy and temporal stability.

According to Nvidia, the improvements are most visible when using DLSS Performance and Ultra Performance modes, where motion clarity and detail retention have been a focus.

The company says the technology has already been tested in beta over the past week by gamers and reviewers, with positive feedback on its ability to stabilise moving images in fast-paced environments.

More Games Supporting DLSS 4 And DLSS 4.5

Nvidia confirmed that DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation is now supported in over 250 games and apps. More titles are expected to add compatibility in the coming months.

Among the upcoming games with DLSS support are 007 First Light, Phantom Blade Zero, PRAGMATA, Resident Evil Requiem, Active Matter, Screamer and DEFECT.

Two new titles also received DLSS upgrades this week:

• LET IT DIE: INFERNO, developed by Supertrick Games and GungHo Online Entertainment, now includes DLSS Super Resolution through a new update. The Nvidia app allows users to apply DLSS 4.5 overrides for additional quality.

• StarRupture, a first-person base-building game in Early Access, launched with support for DLSS Super Resolution and DLSS Frame Generation. Users on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs can enable DLSS 4 and DLAA, along with the new 4.5 Super Resolution mode.

Nvidia App Updated To Version 11.0.6

Coinciding with the DLSS upgrade, Nvidia released version 11.0.6 of the Nvidia app. The update introduces several new features aimed at both gamers and developers.

Key changes include:

• Nvidia Surround settings moved from the Nvidia Control Panel into the app’s System > Displays section, with bezel correction and hotkey options.

• Advanced Optimus improvements, allowing laptop users to identify full application names blocking the feature, rather than only seeing .exe files.

• Debug Mode toggle under System > Advanced to disable all overclocking and voltage changes temporarily, helping users isolate causes of system instability.

• A new Developer tab offering configuration options for profiling and debugging tools.

Tools And SDKs For Developers

Nvidia also pushed several developer resources live alongside the DLSS 4.5 release.

• DLSS Streamline Plugins: Developers can now access DLSS 4.5 through the DLSS Super Resolution Streamline Plugin. Support for Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and the new 6x Multi Frame mode will arrive later this year via a separate plugin.

• Neural Shaders SDK: The RTX Neural Texture Compression SDK has been updated to version 0.9. It uses Ai to compress textures more efficiently than conventional methods, saving memory while reducing FPS impact. BC7 encoding is now six times faster, and inference speeds have improved by 20 to 40 per cent.

• ACE Platform Expansion: The Nvidia ACE SDK now supports the Nemotron Nano 9B V2 language model for in-game Ai inferencing. The platform also added support for smaller models such as Qwen3-4B and Qwen3-.6B, giving developers more flexibility in balancing speed, memory and output quality.

• Nsight Graphics 2025.5: Nvidia’s latest release of Nsight Graphics introduces shader code editing within captured frames and visualisation of RTX Hair primitives. GPU Trace Profiler updates include improved organisation for multi-trace sessions.
