NinjaOne has completed its acquisition of cloud backup provider Dropsuite in a deal worth around US$270 million, aimed at consolidating backup and data protection across endpoints, servers and SaaS applications under a single platform.
The move is designed to address the challenges IT teams face in managing increasingly fragmented environments, where backup tools and data protection strategies often span legacy systems, cloud services and remote devices.
Addressing Fragmentation In IT Backup
The integration of Dropsuite will allow NinjaOne customers to manage endpoint, server and SaaS backups, including Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, from a single interface. Real-time email archiving is also included as part of the combined offering.
NinjaOne Chief Executive Officer and co-founder Sal Sferlazza said the deal marks a strategic shift in the company’s ability to support IT teams facing complex infrastructure.
“This acquisition is a major step forward in how we help customers improve business productivity, protect their data and build resilience,” Sferlazza said.
“The addition of Dropsuite not only expands the backup protection we offer, but it also brings a team of new Ninjas whose mindset perfectly aligns with NinjaOne’s values. Dropsuite’s commitment to customer success and product excellence will help us accelerate growth and better serve our customers.”
Industry Response And Risk Context
The deal comes amid increased concern about data fragmentation and ransomware risks. According to Phil Hochmuth, Program Vice President of Endpoint Management and Enterprise Mobility at IDC, many organisations still rely on disconnected backup tools, leaving critical gaps in security.
“Data is everywhere – endpoints, cloud applications, home offices, remote devices and SaaS platforms,” Hochmuth said.
“Amid surging ransomware attacks, many organisations have a fragmented backup strategy with a patchwork of legacy endpoint tools, bolt-on SaaS protectors and disconnected consoles. This introduces inefficiencies and blind spots and increases the risk of operational disruptions and data loss from human error, application issues or cyberattacks.”
Dropsuite CEO Outlines Integration Benefits
Dropsuite Chief Executive Officer Charif El-Ansari said the company’s existing focus on intuitive cloud-based tools will be amplified under the new structure.
“Dropsuite helps organisations protect their data with intuitive yet powerful cloud backup software,” El-Ansari said.
“Together with NinjaOne, we’re even better suited to make our customers successful with one integrated console that automates endpoint and SaaS application backup. We will continue to solve our customers’ biggest challenges together.”
Platform Consolidation For Operational Efficiency
The integration of Dropsuite into NinjaOne is intended to simplify data protection workflows and reduce the operational complexity that comes with maintaining multiple backup systems.
By merging backup coverage across endpoints, servers and cloud platforms into a single platform, NinjaOne aims to provide better visibility for IT teams and improve resilience against growing cyber threats.
The combined platform is positioned as a way to help organisations strengthen their compliance, reduce reliance on on-premises solutions and respond more effectively to incidents.
