Surprisingly Useful AI Article Enhancements
Netskope has announced enhancements to its Netskope One platform, expanding its data protection offerings by integrating Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) capabilities. The update builds on the company’s existing security solutions, which serve thousands of enterprise organisations worldwide, including over 30 companies in the Fortune 100.
The integration of DSPM comes at a critical time for businesses as they navigate a complex environment shaped by hybrid work, artificial intelligence (Ai) and machine learning adoption, increasing privacy regulations, and a growing number of security threats. Netskope’s data protection solutions are designed to scale across a variety of environments, including web, cloud, email, endpoint, and on-premises systems.
Broadening Data Protection
Netskope’s recent acquisition of DSPM innovator Dasera has played a significant role in extending the platform’s capabilities. This integration allows the Netskope One platform to deliver unified security solutions across web, SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, email, and on-premises use cases. It supports structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data stores and data lakes, providing a broad spectrum of protection for diverse data types.
Sanjay Beri, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Netskope, highlighted the importance of the DSPM capabilities in the current data security landscape. “An enterprise’s modern data security strategy aims to holistically know and control where their data is, what this data is, how it got there, the posture of the data store, and how sensitive data is being used,” Beri said. He added that organisations are looking for platforms that offer real-time, granular data policies to protect their data assets.
A Unified Approach
Beri emphasised that security leaders are increasingly seeking unified solutions rather than relying on multiple point solutions to address specific data protection needs. “In my dialogue with security leaders around the world in the past months, it is clear that they are excited for DSPM capabilities to be part of the Netskope One platform. The last thing they want is yet another point solution tackling just one aspect of data protection,” Beri explained.
The Netskope One platform aims to deliver a comprehensive solution that covers data protection across various environments, whether it’s cloud-based, on-premises, or a hybrid setup. By offering a unified approach, Netskope One helps organisations manage the entire data security lifecycle, from where the data is stored to how it is accessed and used.
Leadership in Data Protection
Netskope’s position as a leader in the security market has been reinforced by its recognition in industry reports. The company has consistently been ranked high in data protection by independent analysts, including its position in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Security Service Edge. This recognition underscores Netskope’s capabilities in addressing evolving data protection challenges.
The integration of DSPM into Netskope One further strengthens the platform’s ability to provide comprehensive protection across a wide range of use cases. As Beri noted, “Our goal has always been to enable this modern data security strategy by bringing the broadest and deepest data protection using a single, holistic platform.”
Availability of DSPM
The DSPM module is now available as part of the Netskope One platform. Organisations can immediately begin leveraging these new capabilities to enhance their data security strategies and ensure compliance with evolving privacy regulations and security standards.
