Navman has released its 2026 MiVue dash cam lineup, positioning the devices as a practical Father’s Day gift alternative to the usual socks and barbecue tools.
The range spans five models priced from $189 to $549, covering single-lens units through to a three-camera system with side-impact coverage and a dedicated helmet camera for motorcycle riders.
The pitch is straightforward: dash cams provide an independent record of what happens on the road, which can matter when insurance claims are disputed or fault is contested.
A survey commissioned by Navman and conducted by Lonergan Research in December 2025 found that nearly one in three Australian drivers – 32 per cent of the 1,005 respondents – had been involved in an accident where they found it difficult to prove they were not at fault.
MiVue Smart True 4K Surround – $549
At the top of the range sits the MiVue Smart True 4K Surround, a three-camera system that records front footage in 4K, rear video in 2.5K using a STARVIS 2 sensor and side impact zone coverage in 2.5K.
The idea behind the side camera is to capture incidents such as sideswipes that a front-and-rear setup would miss.
The unit ships with a Smart Parking 12V Hard Wiring Kit that enables what Navman calls Integrated Smart Parking Mode. Once hardwired, all three cameras can detect motion while the vehicle is parked and unattended. A time lapse mode condenses hours of parking footage into shorter clips for review.
Other features include Extended Recording Mode, which Navman says halves video file sizes during driving to double the amount of footage that fits on the included 64GB endurance microSD card.
The device also offers Smart Safety Camera Alerts that warn of upcoming speed, school zone (timed in Australia only) and red light cameras, with the alert distance adjusting based on the driver’s speed. Average Speed Camera Alerts cover point-to-point camera zones.
Wi-Fi connectivity through Navman’s EZYShare feature allows footage to be transferred directly to a phone for sharing with insurers, police or other parties.
MiVue Smart True 4K Series – $289 and $389
The MiVue Smart True 4K Series comes in two variants. The base model at $289 is a single front-facing camera, while the MiVue Smart True 4K DC at $389 adds a rear camera.
Both record front footage in 4K using an 8-megapixel sensor, delivering four times the resolution of Full HD. Navman says this level of detail is intended to capture small but important information such as road signs and number plates.
The DC model pairs its 4K front camera with a 2.5K rear unit built around a STARVIS 2 sensor for improved low-light performance during night driving. It also includes Tailgating Warnings that alert the driver when a following vehicle is too close, while continuously recording rear activity.
Both models support Integrated Smart Parking Mode when hardwired, along with Extended Recording Mode, Smart Safety Camera Alerts, Average Speed Camera Alerts and EZYShare via Wi-Fi.
MiVue 280 Safety – $189
The entry-level MiVue 280 Safety is a front-only unit that records in 2.5K Quad HD with HDR, designed to maintain image quality across different lighting conditions from early morning to late at night.

Where this model differs from the 4K range is its emphasis on driver alert features. In addition to the Smart Safety Camera Alerts and Average Speed Camera Alerts found across the lineup, the 280 Safety adds what Navman calls Premium Driver Alerts. These include notifications for accident blackspots, timed school zone alerts (in Australia only), railway crossings and speed zone changes on motorways.
It supports Extended Recording Mode and EZYShare via Wi-Fi. Setup is plug-and-go using a 12V-24V power adapter, though this model does not include hardwired parking mode.
MiVue Rider DC Helmet Camera – $349
For motorcycle and scooter riders, Navman offers the MiVue Rider DC, a helmet-mounted camera with both front and rear lenses.
The device uses a 4-megapixel CMOS sensor and records in 2.5K Quad HD at 30fps, with a 1080p Full HD mode at 60fps. It carries an IP67 weatherproof rating.
The camera attaches to a helmet via an adhesive mount with built-in magnetic sensors. When the unit is placed on the mount, recording starts automatically.
A Trip Lapse feature condenses long rides into shorter clips. Riders can also export and share their routes as GPX files. Like the car-mounted models, the Rider DC supports EZYShare via Wi-Fi for transferring footage to a phone.
A 64GB endurance microSD card is included.
