MyPass Global has raised $7.5 million in Series A funding, led by Australian venture capital firm OneVentures. The investment will support MyPass’ expansion in the Americas and accelerate product development.
Founded in 2013, MyPass offers a digital Skills Passport that enables workers to manage their training and competency information. The platform aims to reduce costs and risks associated with workforce compliance and credential management in high-risk industries, including mining, oil and gas, energy, utilities, construction, industrial manufacturing and healthcare.
MyPass CEO Matt Smith said the funding from OneVentures represents a key step in the company’s growth strategy.
“MyPass provides a solution to the increasing challenges around workforce competency assurance,” Smith said. “Our portable, worker-friendly Skills Passport allows workers to control their qualifications and credentials without compromising data privacy and security. It connects workers, site owners, suppliers, training institutions and industry bodies in a single source of truth.”
Smith said the investment and strategic backing from OneVentures will help MyPass scale operations in the Americas.
“We look forward to working with OneVentures as we expand our platform into new markets and continue to simplify workforce competency management in key industries.”
Growth And Market Expansion
More than 1,300 companies use MyPass to manage over 110,000 contractors globally. In 2024 alone, the company onboarded 350 organisations and validated over 246,000 documents.
North and South America represent significant growth opportunities, particularly in the mining, resources and energy industries.
OneVentures Partner Bevin Shields said the firm is confident in MyPass’ ability to scale.
“We have been impressed by MyPass’ platform and the trust placed in it by some of the world’s largest companies operating in complex environments,” Shields said. “MyPass has built a large and growing customer base while maintaining capital efficiency. We are pleased to partner with Matt and his team to support their continued success.”
Deloitte research has found that 66 per cent of organisations are not adequately prepared to manage their workforce in Australia and globally. This comes amid tighter regulations and growing risks related to fraud, data security, privacy breaches and safety concerns, all exacerbated by increased reliance on contract labour.
MyPass’ platform reduces reliance on manual spreadsheets and fragmented legacy software, providing real-time validation and tracking of employee credentials.
