Melbourne-based automotive aftermarket group MotorOne has signed an exclusive partnership with South Korean dash cam manufacturer FineDigital, giving the Australian company distribution rights to the Korean firm’s FineVu range of dash cams and automotive electronics.
The deal marks a further push by MotorOne into the vehicle technology segment as the company looks to build out its portfolio beyond traditional automotive accessories and protection products.
Growing demand for in-vehicle tech
The Australian automotive aftermarket has been shifting steadily toward software-enabled and connected vehicle products in recent years, with dash cams among the categories seeing consistent growth in consumer and fleet demand.
“The aftermarket is changing, and the businesses that will succeed are the ones moving into technology-led categories rather than relying purely on traditional accessories,” explained a MotorOne spokesperson.
“Dash cams sit at the intersection of driver safety, insurance risk management and fleet oversight, which makes them a natural fit for where we want to take the business.”
MotorOne has been expanding its platform across vehicle protection, mobility and driver safety solutions in the Australian market. The FineDigital agreement adds a dedicated hardware line to that strategy.
FineDigital’s Korean credentials
FineDigital has built its position in the South Korean market through its FineVu brand, which spans dash cams and related automotive electronics. The company’s products are built around its imaging and mobility technology capabilities.
South Korea is one of the more mature dash cam markets globally, with high adoption rates among both private motorists and commercial fleets. Manufacturers operating in that environment have typically had to meet demanding expectations around image quality, reliability and software integration.
“Partnering with a manufacturer that has proven itself in a market as competitive as Korea gives us confidence in the product quality we’ll be bringing to Australian customers,” the MotorOne spokesperson added.
“FineDigital’s engineering background in imaging technology was a key factor in our decision to pursue this as an exclusive arrangement rather than a standard distribution agreement.”
Exclusive terms signal long-term intent
The exclusive nature of the deal suggests both parties see the Australian market as a meaningful growth opportunity rather than a short-term test.
For MotorOne, locking in exclusivity on the FineVu brand prevents competing aftermarket distributors from accessing the same product line, giving the company a differentiated offering in a segment where many retailers carry overlapping ranges from the same handful of manufacturers.
“Exclusivity matters because it lets us invest properly in the brand rather than just adding another SKU to the catalogue,” the spokesperson remarked.
“We can build a support and distribution structure around FineVu that wouldn’t make commercial sense if three other distributors were selling the same product.”
Aftermarket sector in transition
The partnership reflects a broader pattern across Australia’s automotive aftermarket, where distributors and vehicle solution providers have been steadily broadening their catalogues to include connected devices, driver assistance technology and software-enabled products.

Traditional aftermarket categories such as paint protection, window tinting and mechanical accessories remain core revenue lines for many operators, but the margin and growth opportunities in vehicle technology have drawn increasing attention from established players looking to diversify.
MotorOne’s move into dash cams through the FineDigital deal positions it alongside other aftermarket businesses that have made similar pivots toward technology-driven product lines in recent years.
The company indicated the agreement is expected to support further growth within Australia’s automotive aftermarket as it continues to develop its integrated mobility and driver protection offering.
