Surprisingly Useful AI Article Enhancements
MongoDB has announced a new Asia Pacific Strategic Partner Program aimed at accelerating the region’s shift from legacy infrastructure to AI-driven applications.
The invite-only program is designed to identify and invest in a select group of partners with architectural expertise, local market knowledge and established customer relationships. Partners already onboarded include Sieger in China, SoftwareOne in India and ICS Compute in Indonesia.
The program forms part of a broader regional investment by MongoDB, which plans to increase the size of its APAC partner team by 50 per cent by the end of its fiscal year. Over the same period, the company aims to quadruple the number of partners in the region with which it is strategically engaged.
Bridging The Gap Between AI Ambition And Deployment
MongoDB has positioned the program as a response to the gap between enterprise interest in generative AI and the practical challenges of deploying it in production environments, particularly where organisations are still running legacy relational database systems.
The company argues that its document model, combined with integrated Vector Search and embedding models from Voyage AI by MongoDB, allows customers and partners to build semantic search and generative AI agents directly on operational data without needing to assemble a fragmented technology stack.
Bidhan Roy, Vice President of Partners, APAC at MongoDB, pointed to the complexity of generative AI deployment as the driving force behind the new engagement model.
“We have successfully built a first-class partner ecosystem across the region. However, the complexity of generative AI deployment and legacy modernisation demand an evolved partner engagement model focused on deep, strategic alignment,” Roy explained.
“We are identifying partners who have outstanding local capabilities and investing heavily in their success to create an ecosystem of force multipliers across the Asia Pacific region.”
Roy added that the initiative is intended to reduce delivery risk and time-to-market for joint customers, providing access to advisors who can bring together technology, skills and strategy.
“For our joint customers, this initiative aims to reduce delivery risk, reduce time-to-market, and provide access to trusted advisors who can pull together all the necessary elements – technology, skills and strategy – to make AI a reality,” he stated.
What The Program Offers Partners
The Strategic Partner Program is structured around several pillars.
On the skills front, it provides preferential access to specialised Architect and Application Delivery certifications, intended to build a validated pool of talent capable of executing complex modernisation projects on MongoDB’s platform.
The program also prioritises partners with deep local expertise. MongoDB cited examples including navigating government data sovereignty requirements in Singapore and financial regulations in India as areas where local knowledge is critical.
For customers still running legacy systems, partner organisations will be equipped with blueprints and tools to accelerate modernisation, with the goal of clearing a path for AI adoption.
Joint go-to-market support is also included, with co-marketing toolkits, ready-to-use assets and playbooks designed to help partners scale alongside MongoDB in the region.

Early Partners Already Engaged
MongoDB has named three initial partners across the region, each addressing different market needs.
In China, Sieger is integrating MongoDB’s data platform into its unified go-to-market model to help Chinese enterprises expand globally. MongoDB cited one example in which Sieger used MongoDB Atlas to help a large smartphone manufacturer scale operations across the Americas and Europe.
Flora Kong, Chief Operating Officer at Sieger, described the partnership’s trajectory.
“By combining Sieger’s deep local expertise with MongoDB’s data platform, we are already seeing the impact on some of the world’s most dynamic and fast-growing companies,” Kong remarked. “In the coming year, we are deepening our collaboration to provide customers with an AI-native, all-in-one data platform experience.”
In India, SoftwareOne is combining its cloud migration and managed services capabilities with MongoDB’s platform to address legacy modernisation.
Vikas Bhonsle, Federation Leader at SoftwareOne India, identified legacy infrastructure as a core obstacle.
“Legacy infrastructure is one of the single greatest barriers to AI adoption. Our collaboration with MongoDB is one of the many initiatives we at SoftwareOne are taking to remove that friction,” Bhonsle noted. “By combining our cloud migration and managed services expertise with MongoDB’s flexible data platform, we are helping enterprises modernise their core applications at pace.”
In Indonesia, ICS Compute – the country’s first AWS Premier Tier Services Partner – is working with MongoDB to help large enterprises across banking, financial services and insurance, retail and manufacturing move away from fragmented legacy systems toward scalable, AI-ready data architecture.
Budhi Wibawa, CEO of ICS Compute, pointed to the practical challenges facing Indonesian enterprises.
“Indonesian enterprises already have the data; what they need now is a solid foundation to turn that data into AI-enabled applications and real business value,” Wibawa outlined. “By combining our end-to-end capabilities and local expertise with MongoDB’s modern data platform, we are giving customers a practical, low-risk path to modernisation for the AI era.”
A Shift In Partner Strategy
The program represents a shift in how MongoDB engages with its APAC partner ecosystem. Rather than broadening the number of partners across the region, the company is concentrating its investment on a smaller group of strategically aligned organisations.
The 50 per cent expansion of MongoDB’s APAC partner team signals the scale of investment the company is making to support the initiative. The plan to quadruple the number of strategically engaged partners, while still operating on an invite-only basis, suggests MongoDB is looking to build depth rather than breadth in its regional channel.
The approach reflects a wider industry pattern in which cloud and data platform vendors are tightening their partner programs around AI-specific capabilities, recognising that the skills required to deploy generative AI applications differ from those needed for traditional database migration or cloud adoption projects.
For partners, the program offers a structured path to MongoDB certification and joint go-to-market support. For MongoDB, it provides a network of regionally embedded partners capable of delivering on the complex, multi-layered projects that enterprise AI adoption typically demands.
