Midea has expanded its Australian laundry appliance lineup with two new models aimed at reducing household energy consumption and simplifying garment care.
The Midea 210 Front Load Washer and Midea 210 Heat Pump Dryer (main image) are designed to work as a connected pair, with features including auto-dosing, cold wash cycles and what the company calls Power Mix Technology for cleaning performance at lower energy cost.
The launch comes as energy costs remain a persistent concern for Australian households. Research from Compare The Market found that 39 per cent of Australians are now only washing laundry in cold wash cycles, while one quarter have switched to line-drying their clothes.
Washer targets energy and water reduction
The Midea 210 Front Load Washer uses a BLDC inverter motor, which the company says delivers energy savings and quieter operation compared to conventional motors – a consideration for households running cycles early in the morning or late at night.
The washer’s Power Mix system pre-mixes detergent with water before it enters the drum, creating a foam designed to reduce detergent residue and improve fabric care. A Low Profile Wave Impeller creates water flow patterns intended to move clothes through the wash while using less water.
An Auto Dispenser handles detergent dosing based on load size, while the Midea Smarthome app allows remote control and sends alerts when detergent or softener supplies are running low. The company positions this as a set-and-forget arrangement for busy households.
Fast cycle options include a 15-minute mode for small loads and a Turbo Wash function for one-hour cycles. Midea claims the Turbo Wash function is 30 per cent more time efficient than standard cycles.
The washer also includes a tub clean function that uses 90-degree hot water flushes between the inner and outer drums to remove lint, residue and bacteria. A steam sanitisation mode targets 99.99 per cent bacteria elimination.
A Storm Wash system offers five wash modes that automatically adjust beat and direction during washing, cycling through soaking, rubbing, penetrating, swinging and waterfall patterns. The washer carries a Woolmark Green Label certification for wool garment care.
Heat pump dryer carries 10-star energy rating
The Midea 210 Heat Pump Dryer has achieved a 10-star Australian energy rating, using a dual inverter compressor that the company says saves both drying time and energy. It can dry 3 KG of laundry in 59 minutes.
The heat pump technology uses a circulating heating system to dry clothes at lower temperatures, which Midea says helps protect fabrics from shrinking and damage. Built-in sensors automatically adjust the drying program’s time and temperature based on the load.
An anti-crease function activates after each cycle completes, running for either 30 or 120 minutes depending on user selection.
The dryer features a self-cleaning condenser that automatically flushes lint using collected water, reducing maintenance requirements. A reversible door can be configured to open from either the left or right side during installation.
When paired with the Midea 210 Washer, an AutoLink feature automatically syncs the dryer’s mode to align with the washing cycle that preceded it, eliminating the need for manual program selection between the two appliances.
Both appliances are coated with weather-resistant materials designed to prevent yellowing, rust and wear – a consideration for Australian households where laundry equipment may be housed outdoors or in semi-exposed areas.

Connected laundry through app integration
Both appliances connect to the Midea Smarthome app, which provides real-time notifications, scheduled completion times and the ability to customise and store cleaning preferences. The app also enables the AutoLink synchronisation between the washer and dryer.

Pricing and availability
The Midea 210 Front Load Washer (MF210) is priced at $1,099 and the Midea 210 Heat Pump Dryer (MD210) at $1,449. Both are available through Bing Lee.
