JAX Tyres & Auto has introduced a digital vehicle inspection platform called JAX Inspect, designed to give customers a clearer picture of their vehicle’s condition before any repair work is recommended.
The platform delivers a digital inspection report directly to customers via SMS, complete with photos, videos and colour-coded health assessments for each component checked during a service visit.
The launch comes as Australian consumers continue to navigate cost-of-living pressures, with many looking for greater visibility into what they are paying for when it comes to vehicle maintenance and repairs.
How JAX Inspect Works
Each inspection carried out through the platform uses a traffic light system to categorise the state of a vehicle’s components. Items flagged red indicate repairs that need urgent attention, amber highlights parts that should be monitored in the near future and green confirms components that are functioning as expected.
Customers can review the results in real time, track the progress of their service and use the visual report to make decisions about what work to approve.
The platform is intended to bridge a communication gap that can exist between technicians and vehicle owners, particularly for customers who may not have a technical understanding of automotive systems.
CEO and Managing Director of JAX Tyres & Auto, Steve Grossrieder, acknowledged that the servicing process can be difficult for many consumers to navigate.
“For many Australians, understanding exactly what their vehicle needs can feel overwhelming. JAX Inspect removes that uncertainty by giving customers a clear, visual overview of their vehicle’s condition, allowing them to see exactly what our technicians see and help them make informed decisions with confidence,” Grossrieder explained.
Franchisee Feedback
The platform builds on the vehicle inspection standards already in place across the JAX network, adding a digital layer to make results more accessible and easier for customers to interpret.
JAX Tyres & Auto Narellan Franchisee, Daniel Spiteri, pointed to the difference the tool is making at the store level.
“People really appreciate being able to see exactly what their vehicle needs, rather than just hearing about it. It builds confidence, creates more open conversations and helps customers feel reassured they’re getting honest advice,” Spiteri noted.
“It’s a simple change that’s making a real difference to the experience our customers are having in-store.”
Supporting Workshop Operations
Beyond the customer-facing benefits, JAX Inspect is also designed to support technicians by providing a structured digital framework for carrying out inspections. The platform aims to help maintain consistency across the network while improving workshop efficiency and communication between staff and customers.
JAX Tyres & Auto has been operating since 1949 and began franchising in 1993. The network now includes more than 94 locations across Australia, with 89 independently owned by franchisees. The brand supports more than 1,000 employees nationally.
