Ingram Micro has entered into a multi-year Strategic Collaboration Agreement (SCA) with Amazon Web Services (AWS), aiming to expand cloud solutions and service delivery capabilities for its channel partners. This partnership, supported by the integration of AWS Marketplace into Ingram Micro’s digital platform Xvantage, is set to enhance professional services and enablement globally.
Focus on Cloud Services and Innovation
The agreement prioritises two key areas. First, it aims to strengthen Ingram Micro’s professional services capabilities. Leveraging its AWS Migration Competency, the company plans to expand its cloud assessment and migration services worldwide.
Tim Ament, Senior Vice President and Country Chief Executive for Ingram Micro Australia and New Zealand, highlighted the significance of these enhancements. “We are committed to helping our partners navigate hybrid IT environments by providing advanced technical resources. This collaboration with AWS enables our partners to maximise AWS solutions and foster growth.”
The enhanced services will include advisory and optimisation offerings such as the AWS Well-Architected Framework. These efforts are designed to optimise partner environments and improve operational efficiency. The agreement also extends to incorporating generative Ai, analytics, and advanced architecture capabilities, utilising AWS services like Amazon Bedrock and Amazon SageMaker.
Victor Baez, Senior Vice President of Global Vendor Engagement at Ingram Micro, underlined the importance of this collaboration. “This agreement brings new opportunities for channel partners to expand their service capabilities and better serve their customers.”
Enabling ISVs and Channel Partners
The second focus area is empowering Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and channel partners. Through the AWS Marketplace and Ingram Micro Xvantage, partners can list their offerings, including customised services for industries such as retail, healthcare, education, and finance.
Duncan Robinson, Vice President of Global Partnerships at Ingram Micro, explained the benefits. “When a channel partner encounters gaps in capability or knowledge, they can turn to Ingram Micro. Our investments in AWS and the Xvantage platform are designed to empower their success.”
This collaborative effort aims to help ISVs scale their offerings while opening new business opportunities for channel partners, particularly in co-sell scenarios.
Expanding Regional Impact
Ingram Micro’s unique position as an AWS distributor across APAC, North America, Latin America, and EMEA regions reflects its strategic investments in cloud services. The company emphasised its commitment to delivering value through enhanced technical delivery and enablement resources.
Jeremiah Jenson, Global Leader of Channel Resell at AWS, praised the partnership’s potential. “This agreement helps channel partners and their customers leverage AWS more effectively, enhancing their cloud migration and modernisation efforts.”
Strengthening Channel Partner Capabilities
The collaboration underscores Ingram Micro’s dedication to supporting its partners’ growth and technical expertise. By offering advanced resources and tools, the company aims to bridge gaps in capability and facilitate seamless cloud migration and modernisation.
“Ingram Micro and AWS are elevating the channel partner experience, enabling them to do more for their customers,” said Baez.
