Indian IT services giant Infosys has announced definitive agreements to acquire two US-based consulting firms, Optimum Healthcare IT and Stratus, as it moves to expand its capabilities in the healthcare and insurance sectors.
Both deals were announced on the same day and are expected to close during the first quarter of Infosys’ financial year 2027, subject to regulatory approvals and closing conditions. Financial terms for neither transaction were disclosed.
Infosys says the dual acquisitions signal intent to deepen its position in two sectors where AI-powered cloud and data transformation projects are generating growing demand from enterprise clients.
Healthcare deal targets provider segment
Optimum Healthcare IT is a healthcare digital transformation and consulting firm based in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. The company holds a Best in KLAS recognition and specialises in helping healthcare provider organisations drive large-scale transformation projects.
Its service offerings span enterprise application services, digital transformation and workforce management. Optimum Healthcare IT is an Elite ServiceNow partner, received the 2026 ServiceNow Partner of the Year Award and holds Premier AWS partner status alongside Workday Services and Microsoft Azure partnerships.
Infosys Chief Executive Officer, Salil Parekh, framed the deal as a way to build a combined offering for healthcare providers.
“Optimum Healthcare IT has established a strong position in the healthcare sector by consistently delivering measurable outcomes through deep domain expertise and trusted client engagements,” Parekh stated. “By bringing together Optimum’s provider experience with Infosys Topaz and Infosys Cobalt, we are positioned to create a differentiated value proposition for healthcare providers – accelerating end-to-end cloud, data and digital transformation at scale.”
Healthcare providers served by Optimum Healthcare IT will gain access to Infosys’ broader portfolio, including its Topaz AI offerings, Cobalt cloud platform, cloud engineering, infrastructure services, cybersecurity and application transformation.
Gene Scheurer, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Optimum Healthcare IT, described the deal as a way to scale the firm’s existing model.
“From the beginning, Optimum was built to deliver results through a focus on execution, collaboration and quality,” Scheurer explained. “With Infosys’ long-term investment and global scale behind us, we’re positioned to accelerate AI and digital-led growth and expand what we can deliver while remaining anchored in the values, service model and healthcare focus our clients count on.”
Venky Ananth, Executive Vice President and Head of Healthcare at Infosys, outlined how the combined entity would operate.
“Optimum Healthcare IT brings specialised provider-focused capabilities, including health record advisory, implementation and support, further strengthening Infosys’ healthcare portfolio,” Ananth noted. “Together, Infosys and Optimum Healthcare IT will advance AI-led, large-scale cloud and data transformation initiatives for healthcare providers through an integrated, end-to-end set of offerings.”
Jason Mabry, President and Co-Founder of Optimum Healthcare IT, indicated the firm’s existing team and client relationships would be preserved.
“Our success has always been driven by our people and the trust our clients place in them,” Mabry added. “This next chapter with Infosys strengthens our healthcare industry leadership position while maintaining the same Optimum team, leadership involvement and client-first experience that organisations know and expect.”
Insurance acquisition brings Guidewire expertise
The second deal targets Stratus, a US-headquartered technology solutions provider focused on the property and casualty (P&C) insurance industry.

Stratus brings a team of more than 450 specialists with a global delivery footprint spanning the United States, Canada and India. The firm is a Guidewire Software partner offering transformation solutions to P&C insurers, with capabilities across Guidewire’s InsuranceSuite products including PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter and BillingCenter.
The company also maintains a dedicated data practice with capabilities across Guidewire CDA, Data Studio, DataHub, InfoCenter, Databricks and Microsoft Fabric.
Kannan Amaresh, Senior Vice President and Head of Insurance at Infosys, pointed to the P&C segment as a driver of AI adoption within the broader insurance industry.
“AI is fundamentally transforming the global insurance industry, strengthening decision-making across underwriting, claims and fraud detection, while making systems intelligent and improving operational efficiency,” Amaresh observed. “The P&C segment is leading AI adoption in the insurance sector, driven by the need for claims automation, advanced underwriting and sophisticated risk modelling amid claim volumes and elevated risk exposure.”
“By combining Stratus’ deep technology consulting capabilities with Infosys’ established leadership in the insurance sector, we are further enhancing our ability to drive value for our clients.”
Chuck Fillizola, Chief Executive Officer of Stratus, described the deal as a strategic fit that would allow the firm to operate at a larger scale.
“Stratus was built to help property and casualty insurers modernise their core platforms with deep domain expertise, disciplined execution and meaningful outcomes while putting people at the heart of every engagement,” Fillizola remarked.
“The future of insurance transformation requires more than technology. It demands execution rigor and the ability to operationalise AI across delivery and operations. Joining Infosys allows us to carry this mission forward at global scale by combining our Guidewire and P&C specialisation with Infosys Topaz and Infosys Cobalt.”
