Surprisingly Useful AI Article Enhancements
IFS has struck an agreement with Chelsea Football Club to deploy its Industrial AI technology across the Premier League club’s operations over a multi-year period, starting with finance and procurement.
The agreement builds on the multi-year global partnership between IFS and Chelsea FC that was announced in February. It will see IFS technology embedded into the operational foundations of the club, with plans to extend the deployment into asset management and facility operations over time.
Finance And Procurement First
In the initial phase, IFS will deploy finance and procurement solutions to give Chelsea real-time visibility across its finance operations and automate manual processes.
The procurement deployment will cover a guided, end-to-end process including supplier onboarding, contract management and spend visibility.
IFS technology, including its IFS.ai tooling, will be used to enhance performance, drive efficiency and identify opportunities across the club’s operations.
Extending Into Asset And Facility Management
The phased rollout reflects Chelsea’s ambition to become one of the most operationally advanced clubs in world football. Over time, IFS and Chelsea FC plan to extend the technology into broader operational areas including asset management and facility operations.
IFS manages US$2.4 trillion in critical assets for customers globally across energy, manufacturing and aerospace. The company intends to apply the same Industrial AI capabilities that support those industries to Chelsea FC’s operations.
A New Use Case For Industrial AI
Mark Moffat, Chief Executive Officer at IFS, framed the agreement as a demonstration of Industrial AI’s applicability beyond its traditional sectors.
“Chelsea FC operates in a world where performance, precision and pressure are non-negotiable. That’s exactly the kind of environment where IFS Industrial AI thrives and delivers,” Moffat remarked. “This partnership will demonstrate to the world what’s possible when elite ambition meets industrial-grade AI.”
Technology Transforming Club Operations
Adriel Lares, Chief Financial Officer at Chelsea Football Club, pointed to the broader shift in how technology is reshaping operations across professional sport.
“Advanced technology is transforming the way businesses operate and we are excited to be moving into the next phase of our partnership with IFS to realise the opportunities AI software presents,” Lares noted.
The agreement positions Chelsea as an early mover among Premier League clubs in applying enterprise-grade Industrial AI across its business operations, rather than limiting technology investments to player performance and analytics.
