Hyve Managed Hosting Launches Australian Hub As Data Sovereignty Climbs The Corporate Agenda

Global managed hosting provider Hyve Managed Hosting has entered the Australian market, establishing data centre locations in Sydney and Melbourne and setting up a local office as demand grows for cloud services that keep data under Australian jurisdiction.

The company has confirmed that both data centre locations, delivered via Equinix, are now live. Australian customers can access Hyve’s full portfolio of managed hosting and cloud services, including Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) and Private Cloud solutions, backed by managed security and compliance capabilities.

Both data centre locations have been set up with capacity to expand as customer demand increases.

A Sydney base with Bondi Junction office to follow

As part of the Australian launch, Hyve has secured office space in Sydney and plans to move into a new location in the Bondi Junction area later this year. The new office, expected to open in October, will serve as a base for the company’s growing Australia-based sales, technical support and engineering teams.

The office is intended to give organisations across the region direct access to local expertise at every stage, from initial scoping through to ongoing support.

Data sovereignty driving infrastructure decisions

The launch comes as Australian organisations increasingly seek cloud services that support data sovereignty and residency requirements. For businesses operating critical workloads or handling sensitive information, ensuring that data remains subject to Australian jurisdiction – not just physically located in-country – is becoming a key factor when selecting cloud infrastructure partners.

Angus Jones, Managing Director, APAC at Hyve Managed Hosting, pointed to the timing of the launch as a response to shifting market expectations.

“We are excited to be launching in Australia at a time when organisations are looking for a simpler and more accountable approach to managing cloud infrastructure,” Jones remarked. “With live data centre locations in Sydney and Melbourne, a Sydney office in development and our full Hyve portfolio available locally, we are placed to help Australian organisations run critical workloads with confidence and control from day one.”

Financial services among early adopters

Megan Phillips, Head of Customer Delivery at Enterprise Cash Management, highlighted the importance of local infrastructure for regulated industries.

“For a financial services business, knowing our regional infrastructure hub is hosted in Australia is important,” Phillips explained. “It enables us to meet data residency and regulatory requirements, while also delivering the performance our customers expect.”

“Hyve’s track record for reliability and security gave us confidence they understood the standards our business demands, and we’re looking forward to working with a partner that combines local infrastructure with the expertise to support our long-term growth.”

People, not just infrastructure

Jake Madders, Director and Co-Founder of Hyve Managed Hosting, emphasised that the company’s approach centres on the team behind the technology rather than infrastructure alone.

“What differentiates Hyve isn’t just the infrastructure we provide, but the team behind it,” Madders observed. “Our customers value having experts who understand their environment, take ownership and care about delivering the right outcomes.”

“Managing infrastructure is a 24/7 responsibility and our team is always there when customers need us, so they can focus on business priorities, knowing their critical systems are in safe hands.”

Red Hat collaboration and further expansion

The Australian launch follows Hyve’s collaboration with Red Hat to deliver a fully managed platform built on Red Hat OpenShift. That platform is designed to help customers modernise infrastructure, reduce operational overhead and build an AI-ready foundation.

Hyve is now exploring further expansion within Australia, including a potential data centre location in Perth, Western Australia, as part of its longer-term plan to support customers across the region.
