Global technology services firm HCLTech has been recognised as one of Ethisphere’s 2026 Most Ethical Companies, marking the third year running that the company has appeared on the list.
The recognition places HCLTech alongside a cohort of organisations that Ethisphere, an advisory body focused on ethical business standards, considers to have demonstrated strong performance across ethics and compliance, governance, corporate culture, environmental and social impact and employee training.
Assessment Covers More Than 240 Data Points
The Ethisphere assessment process requires participating companies to provide more than 240 proof points across several categories. These span ethics and compliance programmes, governance structures, internal culture, environmental and social initiatives and the breadth of training and awareness programmes offered to staff.
The evaluation is not a self-nomination exercise. Companies must submit detailed evidence across each category, with Ethisphere’s team reviewing the submissions against its proprietary methodology before determining which organisations qualify for the annual list.
This year’s cohort marks the 20th class of honourees since Ethisphere began publishing the list, a milestone that the organisation’s leadership used to highlight the link between ethical business practices and long-term commercial performance.
HCLTech Points To Core Values And Compliance Culture
Olaf Casperson, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer at HCLTech, framed the recognition as a reflection of the company’s investment in its internal compliance culture.
“It is an honour to once again be named as one of Ethisphere’s Most Ethical Companies, a further testament to our adherence to our core values and ensuring that all our people operate with respect and integrity in everything we do,” Casperson commented.
The company has positioned ethics and social responsibility as central to how it operates across its workforce, client relationships, partner ecosystem and community engagement. For a technology services firm of HCLTech’s scale, maintaining consistent ethical standards across a global operation adds a layer of complexity that the Ethisphere assessment is designed to evaluate.
Ethisphere Highlights Long-Term Performance Link
Erica Salmon Byrne, Ethisphere’s Chief Strategy Officer and Executive Chair, pointed to the connection between governance programmes and business outcomes.
“Companies with strong ethics, compliance and governance programmes are built for better long-term performance,” Salmon Byrne noted. “As we mark the 20th class of honourees, this group continues to raise the bar for business integrity by embedding ethics into everyday decision-making and long-term strategy.”
The comment reflects a broader argument that has gained traction in corporate governance circles: that firms with well-established compliance frameworks tend to avoid the costly regulatory penalties, reputational damage and operational disruptions that can affect less disciplined organisations.
A Global Workforce Of More Than 226,300
HCLTech operates across 60 countries with a workforce of more than 226,300 people. The company’s service lines span AI, digital transformation, engineering, cloud and software, with clients across financial services, manufacturing, life sciences and healthcare, telecommunications, retail and the public sector.
The company reported consolidated revenues of US$14.5 billion for the 12 months ending December 2025. Its Australian operations form part of that global footprint, with the Sydney office serving as a regional base for the company’s Asia-Pacific business.
Repeat Recognition In A Competitive Field
Securing a place on the Ethisphere list for three consecutive years suggests that HCLTech has maintained a consistent standard rather than achieving a one-off result. The assessment methodology is updated annually, meaning returning companies must continue to demonstrate progress rather than rely on previous submissions.
For HCLTech, the recognition serves as an external validation point that can be leveraged in client conversations, particularly in regulated industries such as financial services and healthcare where vendor ethics and compliance credentials carry weight in procurement decisions.
