Surprisingly Useful AI Article Enhancements
Great Southern Bank has adopted NICE’s CXone Mpower platform to enhance customer service and streamline operations, reducing wait times and improving access to specialised support. The bank, one of Australia’s largest customer-owned financial institutions, partnered with NICE and Optus to implement AI-driven tools that prioritise customer engagement across multiple channels.
CXone Mpower, a next-generation Ai platform, has enabled Great Southern Bank to transition from a traditional inbound service model to a proactive, automated customer engagement approach. The platform supports interactions across email and live chat while offering analytics and reporting capabilities to refine services.
Naushad Ahmed, Chief Operating Officer at Great Southern Bank, highlighted the importance of the technology in meeting customer needs.
“Great Southern Bank leveraged CXone Mpower to provide multiple channels for customers to reach the contact centre,” Ahmed said. “There was an opportunity to rebuild the interactive voice response (IVR) with CXone Mpower to ensure that the most vulnerable customers—including people under stress about losing their homes or savings—reach the specialists they need to speak with immediately or within seconds.”
Ahmed noted that the platform has achieved significant outcomes, with over 80 per cent of customer calls now being answered within 30 seconds.
Automating Processes for Greater Efficiency
The implementation includes CXone Mpower AutoSummary, designed to reduce manual notetaking during after-call work. By automating workflows and integrating knowledge tools, the bank can scale its customer service operations while maintaining precision and efficiency.
Ahmed emphasised the impact of automation on delivering better services: “CXone Mpower has allowed us to streamline operations while ensuring we prioritise the needs of our customers, especially during critical moments.”
Strategic Partnership with Optus
Optus played a key role in deploying CXone Mpower, ensuring the technology aligns with Great Southern Bank’s customer service goals. The collaboration has established a strong foundation for future enhancements, including advanced AI capabilities such as sentiment analysis and expanded automation.
Ben Vella, Vice President, Enterprise and Mid-Market at Optus, stressed the significance of the partnership.
“Our work with Great Southern Bank and NICE is about more than just technology,” Vella said. “It’s about delivering a meaningful experience for both customers and employees. By implementing NICE CXone, we’ve dramatically reduced wait times, streamlined interactions, and provided customers with the immediate support they deserve.”
Supporting Vulnerable Customers
The platform’s focus on vulnerable customers ensures that those experiencing financial distress can access support promptly. The updated IVR system directs critical calls to the appropriate specialists within seconds, reducing stress and preventing potential losses.
Darren Rushworth, President of NICE International, said the partnership demonstrates how technology can create significant efficiencies while prioritising customer needs.
“CXone Mpower enables Great Southern Bank to deliver greater efficiencies and support to vulnerable customers in times of crisis, ensuring their calls are answered within seconds,” Rushworth said. “As the organisation evolves, NICE’s technology provides the scalability and flexibility needed to adapt to changing customer preferences.”
Great Southern Bank’s adoption of CXone Mpower reflects its commitment to innovation in customer service. The platform’s capabilities, supported by Optus and NICE, allow the bank to continuously improve its operations and align services with customer expectations.
By integrating advanced automation and AI, the partnership is setting a new standard for efficiency and responsiveness in the financial services sector. Great Southern Bank plans to expand its use of CXone Mpower to further enhance customer sentiment analysis and operational processes.
