FIFA’s global esports division will use Lenovo’s Legion gaming technology at its flagship competition this year, with the finals set for Riyadh in December.

Lenovo partnership

The deal makes Lenovo the official technology partner for the FIFAe Finals 2025. The company’s Legion Tower 7i desktops, monitors, keyboards, mice and accessories will be provided to competitors, staff and presenters throughout the tournament.

FIFA said the hardware will underpin both player performance and competition integrity. Lenovo said the agreement reflects its growing presence in esports and global football events.

Extending collaboration with Fifa

The eSports arrangement builds on Lenovo’s wider partnership with FIFA, which covers several major tournaments. This includes the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, the FIFA World Cup 2026 and the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027.

Across these events, Lenovo has committed to supplying devices, datacentre infrastructure and Ai-driven solutions to support operations, broadcasting and fan engagement. The company said this approach reflects a shift in how technology vendors contribute to the sporting ecosystem, not just through sponsorship but also technical delivery.

Riyadh finals confirmed

The FIFAe Finals 2025 will run from 10 to 19 December in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The competition will feature three titles: the FIFAe World Cup featuring Rocket League, the FIFAe World Cup featuring eFootball on console, and the FIFAe World Cup featuring eFootball on mobile.

National teams from across the world will compete for three world titles. FIFA has introduced an extended open qualification process, allowing more member associations to participate than in previous years.

“Expanding access is an important step in ensuring football esports continues to grow globally,” FIFA’s head of eSports competitions said.

Growing audience

The 2024 season was the most watched football simulation esports competition by peak viewers, according to FIFA. Organisers are aiming to build on that momentum with a broader pool of participating teams and new broadcast capabilities supported by Lenovo.
