Ferrari Deploys Bitdefender GravityZone Platform Across Global Operations

Ferrari has deployed Bitdefender’s GravityZone cybersecurity platform across its infrastructure, extending what began as a Formula 1 brand partnership into a full security integration spanning the company’s engineering, manufacturing, racing and global business operations.

The deployment follows the extension of Bitdefender’s multi-year exclusive partnership with Scuderia Ferrari HP, first announced in November 2024. GravityZone is a unified platform that consolidates prevention, protection, detection, response and risk visibility into a single system.

Managing complexity at scale

Ferrari operates across a range of interconnected functions, from car design and manufacturing through to its Formula 1 racing operation and worldwide commercial activities. That breadth creates a large and complex attack surface that requires consistent security oversight.

Luca Pierro, Head of Enterprise Cybersecurity at Ferrari, pointed to the challenge of maintaining visibility across thousands of systems.

“Centralised visibility and control are very important in a complex environment like Ferrari,” Pierro explained. “When you have thousands of systems and workloads to protect, you need a clear and unified view. Without that, it becomes more difficult to identify issues quickly and respond in a consistent way.”

Why GravityZone

The decision to deploy GravityZone was driven by a need to reduce fragmentation across Ferrari’s security tooling and establish a more standardised approach to protection.

Daniel Daraban, Vice President of Products at Bitdefender, described the platform’s role in consolidating what had previously been a more distributed security environment.

“GravityZone brings prevention, protection, detection and response, along with risk visibility, into a single platform,” Daraban noted. “This consolidation allows to reduce fragmentation, standardise protection and maintain a consistent view across systems.”

A shifting threat landscape

The deployment comes against a backdrop of evolving attack methods that Bitdefender’s threat research teams are tracking across global organisations.

Dragos Gavrilut, Vice President of Threat Research at Bitdefender, described a shift in how attacks are being executed, with adversaries increasingly using legitimate tools and AI-driven automation to evade detection.

“What we’re seeing is a shift in how attacks unfold,” Gavrilut observed. “Attackers are increasingly abusing legitimate tools and trusted applications to move inside environments more quietly and quickly. When you combine that with AI-driven automation, attacks can scale faster and adapt in real time. That’s why organisations need security that can identify suspicious behaviour early and respond before an incident spreads.”

A high-profile target

Ferrari’s status as a globally recognised brand adds a layer of risk that goes beyond standard corporate cybersecurity concerns. The company’s visibility makes it an attractive target, and its expanding digital footprint means the attack surface continues to grow.

Pierro acknowledged that the threat environment has become more demanding over the past year.

“The attack surface is growing, environments are more connected and threats are moving faster,” he remarked. “Over the past year, cybersecurity has become more complex in ways that demand a more proactive, intelligence-driven approach to defence. What led us to the implementation of GravityZone was stronger visibility, stronger control and a more efficient way to support security operations.”

From sponsorship to security partner

The relationship between Bitdefender and Ferrari has evolved from a brand sponsorship arrangement tied to the Scuderia Ferrari HP Formula 1 team into a deeper operational engagement. The deployment of GravityZone across Ferrari’s broader infrastructure represents that shift from marketing alignment to functional cybersecurity integration.

Pierro framed the relationship as one built on trust rather than purely on technology.

“When it comes to cybersecurity, Bitdefender is a strategic partner to Ferrari, and our relationship is built on trust,” he commented. “Trust is a critical foundation when protecting a complex organisation. In today’s threat landscape, trust goes beyond technology. It means having confidence in the people, the expertise and the ability to respond effectively to evolving risks.”

Broader industry context

The Ferrari deployment reflects a pattern seen across high-profile organisations that operate complex, distributed environments. The trend toward platform consolidation in cybersecurity, where organisations move away from managing multiple point solutions in favour of unified platforms, continues to gain traction as attack surfaces expand and threat actors adopt more sophisticated techniques.

For Bitdefender, the Ferrari engagement serves as a reference case for its GravityZone platform in environments where operational complexity, brand risk and the speed of response all carry significant weight.
