Surprisingly Useful AI Article Enhancements
Extreme Networks has announced a strategic partnership with Intel’s Connectivity Analytics Program to bolster the native AI capabilities within its Extreme AI Expert solution, currently in a technology preview phase within Extreme Labs. This collaboration aims to enhance Wi-Fi connectivity, performance, and security by leveraging network data, unique device data from PCs through Intel’s Connectivity Analytics SDK, and Generative AI (GenAI) technologies.
As the number of client devices increases across various network environments, customers are seeking improved visibility into device activity and a simplified way to manage these devices from data centers to the network edge. The partnership between Extreme and Intel will deliver enhanced visibility into both network and client devices. It will also drive the development of GenAI tools that help customers optimize the design, deployment, and management of enterprise networking and security. These features are designed to optimize network performance, dynamically adjust bandwidth to prioritize critical devices, and improve security threat detection and resolution.
GenAI to Lower Operational Costs and Improve User Experiences
Extreme AI Expert was introduced as a tech preview at Extreme Connect 2024. It combines documentation from Extreme’s knowledge bases with data from applications and devices across customer networks to provide insights and proactive recommendations for network design, deployment, and management. The partnership with Intel will integrate Intel-connected device data to enhance these recommendations, extending the knowledge base of Extreme AI Expert. Extreme Networks plans to start integrating Extreme AI Expert into its solutions later this year.
Executive Perspectives
Eric McLaughlin, VP & GM Wireless Solutions at Intel’s Client Computing Group, emphasized the significance of the collaboration, stating, “The network is the hub of operations, innovation, and experiences. By partnering with Extreme Networks, we’re collectively making the network smarter, faster, more secure, and more scalable. Leveraging the insights from millions of Intel-connected devices worldwide, combined with rich data from the network, will help organizations reduce operational costs and provide top-tier end-user experiences.”
Nabil Bukhari (pictured), Chief Technology and Product Officer and GM of Subscription Business at Extreme, highlighted the benefits of the partnership, saying, “We’re focused on advancing the network to improve human experiences. Partnering with Intel provides our customers with a more secure, streamlined way to gain visibility of their network and client devices within a single platform. By augmenting our Extreme AI Expert solution with Intel Connectivity Analytics, we’ll offer richer, more intuitive AI-driven insights and automation, resulting in smarter, more responsive experiences that enhance everything from network optimization to swift security threat detection and resolution.”
