Compact Design Aimed At Content Creators

DJI has launched the RS 4 Mini, a compact and lightweight gimbal designed for cameras and smartphones. Weighing 890g, it can support payloads of up to 2kg. The new model integrates automated axis locks to enable faster setup, transitions and breakdowns.

DJI Product Experience Director Ferdinand Wolf said the RS 4 Mini extends the company’s stabilisation technology to a wider range of users.

“The Ronin Series continues to expand, offering innovations that cater to different levels of creators, from professionals to independent videographers and content creators,” Wolf said.

Features Designed For Efficiency

The RS 4 Mini introduces second-generation auto-axis locks, allowing users to unlock all three axes simultaneously. The third-generation Native Vertical Switch provides a faster transition between shooting modes.

Upgrades include Teflon-coated interlayers and a fine-tuning knob to support precise balancing. DJI claims these improvements offer smoother operation for users mounting different camera systems.

The new RS Intelligent Tracking Module enables ActiveTrack, keeping subjects in frame up to 10 metres away. Users can activate tracking through a trigger press or an open-palm command.

The gimbal features two operation modes: Responsive mode, which provides quicker reactions to movement, and Smooth Follow mode, designed for standard filming applications.

Stability And Battery Improvements

DJI has incorporated fourth-generation stabilisation technology into the RS 4 Mini, improving performance, particularly in vertical shooting. The company states that charging speed and battery life have been increased by 30 per cent compared to the RS 3 Mini, delivering up to 13 hours of operation.

Other hardware improvements include a redesigned RS Briefcase Handle, which is 20 per cent smaller and lighter than previous versions. A quick-release magnetic mount enables faster attachment of the tracking module.

Pricing And Availability

The RS 4 Mini is available for purchase today from authorised retailers and DJI’s website. The standalone version is priced at $539, including the gimbal, tripod, quick-release plate, multi-camera control cable and charging accessories.

A combo package, priced at $659, includes the RS Intelligent Tracking Module and the RS 4 Mini Briefcase Handle.

DJI Care Refresh Support

DJI is offering its Care Refresh protection plan for the RS 4 Mini, covering accidental damage such as collisions and water exposure. The one-year plan provides up to two replacements, while the two-year plan includes up to four replacements.
