Surprisingly Useful AI Article Enhancements
DJI has launched the Osmo 360 II, its second-generation 360-degree camera, featuring a 1-inch 8K/60fps HDR image sensor, AI-powered low-light processing and replaceable lenses designed to withstand damage during action shooting.
The camera makes its physical debut at IFA 2026 in Berlin, with Australian availability to be confirmed later in September. The Standard Combo is priced at $899 and the Adventure Combo at $1,079.
Sensor and imaging
The Osmo 360 II uses what DJI describes as an advanced 1-inch square HDR image sensor that maintains the same 360-degree image field as a traditional 1-inch rectangular sensor while increasing sensor utilisation by 25 per cent. The company says this reduces power consumption while keeping footage clean in both daylight and low-light conditions.
The 360-degree dynamic range has been expanded to 14.5 stops, doubling the brightness range compared to the previous generation. An AI noise-reduction algorithm, AI SuperNight 2.0, targets low-light performance.
The sensor’s 2.4-micron pixels and processing chip enable 8K/60fps 360-degree video capture. The camera also supports 120MP HDR 360-degree photos, 16K 360-degree timelapse and 8K/120fps Vortex mode for slow-motion wraparound footage. All video formats support 10-bit colour depth and a D-Log M colour profile.
A post-production feature in DJI Studio uses AI frame interpolation to deliver up to 64x slow motion from panoramic footage, equivalent to cropped 8K/480fps.
Replaceable lenses and durability
The Osmo 360 II introduces a replaceable lens design. Both lenses feature an ultra-hard optical film for improved scratch and wear resistance. If a lens is damaged, users can swap it out and continue shooting. A replacement lens kit is available for $49.
The camera is waterproof to 10 metres out of the box. For deeper dives, an Invisible Waterproof Case extends the depth rating to 50 metres. The camera operates in temperatures as low as -20 degrees Celsius.
The unit weighs 183 grams and has 105GB of built-in storage.
Battery and charging
The battery provides up to 100 minutes of continuous recording at 8K/30fps and fast-charges to 80 per cent in 22 minutes. A Battery Extension Rod accessory, priced at $149, extends runtime by an additional 180 minutes.
Tracking and workflow
A Spotlight Follow feature uses intelligent subject tracking to keep a subject centred in the frame regardless of camera rotation, without requiring reframing in post-production.
The camera includes an NFC area for streamlined device pairing. A single tap connects the camera to the DJI Mimo app, initiates footage transfer or opens the app’s editing page. Users can import 360-degree video files exported from DJI Studio directly into DaVinci Resolve using a plugin.
Gesture Control and Voice Control allow hands-free recording activation. A Dual Recording mode captures two perspectives simultaneously within a single frame.
Audio and ecosystem
A built-in four-microphone array with wind noise reduction captures audio directly from the camera. DJI OsmoAudio Direct Microphone Connection provides compatibility with the DJI Mic 3, DJI Mic 2, DJI Mic Mini 2S, DJI Mic Mini 2 and DJI Mic Mini.
The camera uses a dual-direction quick-release design for magnetic attachment on both sides and features a 1/4-inch thread for compatibility with DJI Osmo ecosystem accessories and standard camera gear.

Use cases
DJI positions the Osmo 360 II across action sports and content creation scenarios. For motorcycling, the camera can be mounted for multi-angle shots with hands-free recording activation. For skiing, the camera operates in extreme cold and can be paired with a 2.5-metre Extended Carbon Fibre Selfie Stick for aerial-perspective shots. For cycling, a Sports Dashboard overlay adds data to video. For vlogging, the Invisible Selfie Stick functions as an on-the-go camera support.
Australian pricing and availability
Australian availability will be confirmed later in September. Pricing is as follows: the Osmo 360 II Standard Combo at $899, the Adventure Combo at $1,079, the Replacement Lens Kit at $49, the Battery Extension Rod at $149 and the Heavy Duty Clamp Kit at $69.
DJI Care Refresh protection plans are available, with a one-year plan covering up to two replacements and a two-year plan covering up to four. Further details are available at dji.com/360-2.
