Surprisingly Useful AI Article Enhancements
Data security vendor Concentric AI has built an integration with Anthropic’s Compliance API for its Claude platform, giving organisations the ability to audit prompts, responses and policy violations across the generative AI service.
The integration connects Concentric AI’s Semantic DLP (data loss prevention) tooling to the Claude platform, logging activity across both browser and app versions of the service, including historical data.
The shadow AI problem
As Claude has gained traction among developers, professional users and enterprise customers through 2026, organisations have struggled to maintain governance over how sensitive data interacts with generative AI tools.
The core concern is straightforward: employees with legitimate access to company data may share confidential information in AI prompts without realising the consequences. That data can then resurface in responses to other users.
Karthik Krishnan, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Concentric AI, explained that the integration is designed to let organisations use Claude without sacrificing oversight.
“This release continues our commitment to providing organisations with a single end-to-end platform that protects all their sensitive data, wherever it lives and however it travels,” Krishnan stated.
“Now, users can enjoy Claude’s productivity and innovation while maintaining visibility and protection for their most valuable asset – their data.”
Why traditional tools fall short
Concentric AI argues that conventional security products were not built for this particular risk profile. The threat does not come from malware, perimeter breaches or external exploits. Instead, it stems from authorised users handling company data in ways that were not intended.
That makes it difficult for security teams to detect and prevent data leakage without purpose-built tooling that understands the context in which data is being shared.
Without automated and programmatic access to this kind of audit information, businesses are left relying on periodic reviews and manual processes that do not scale, the company warned.
What the integration does
Through the Compliance API connection, Concentric AI’s Semantic DLP captures details of every prompt, response and attachment sent through Claude. The system is designed to support audits, investigations and regulatory compliance requirements.
The platform also provides visibility into unsanctioned or “shadow AI” applications that employees may be using alongside approved tools. Security teams can configure guardrails that use category-aware AI from Concentric AI’s Semantic Intelligence engine to block or redact sensitive data before it reaches a generative AI prompt.
On the response side, the system flags sensitive data that appears in Claude’s outputs, giving organisations a fuller picture of potential exposure.
Krishnan added that the capability shifts Concentric AI’s platform beyond risk reduction and compliance alone.
“Supporting this use case shifts our AI-driven data security governance platform from risk reduction and compliance to a business enabler as well,” he commented.

Compliance and insider threat detection
With the audit data flowing through Semantic DLP, organisations can feed it into Concentric AI’s broader Semantic Intelligence platform to detect insider threats, reduce sensitive data leakage and address compliance obligations.
The company positions this as a way for businesses to meet growing demand for Claude adoption while keeping governance controls in place. Many organisations want to roll out generative AI but find their data security governance is not mature enough to support deployment at scale.
A common gap is that organisations lack visibility into where all their sensitive data resides or whether it is properly labelled. Users often have access to far more sensitive data than their roles require, which compounds the risk when generative AI tools are introduced.
