Colorful Technology has refreshed its Battle-AX motherboard series with two new models that bring Wi-Fi 7 connectivity and updated platform support to the company’s mid-range lineup.

The new boards – the Battle-AX B860M-Plus S WiFi7 and the B760M-Plus S WiFi7 – give builders the choice between DDR5 on Intel’s current Core Ultra 200S platform and DDR4 on the older 12th, 13th and 14th Gen Core platform.

Both models feature improved power delivery, Wi-Fi 7 networking and tool-friendly installation features compared to their predecessors.

The B860M-Plus S WiFi7 is the more forward-looking of the two boards, built around the Intel B860 chipset with support for Intel Core Ultra 200S series processors.

Power delivery comes via a 10+1+1+1 phase design using 60A DrMOS components. The board provides three M.2 slots, one of which supports PCIe 5.0 x4 speeds, alongside four SATA ports for additional storage.

On the memory front, four reinforced DDR5 slots support speeds of up to 8,800 MT/s when overclocked. Colorful notes the board is optimised for single-DIMM configurations, which the company positions as a way to extract strong gaming performance on a tighter budget. Pairing the board with Intel Core Ultra 200S processors and Intel APO can further improve system and gaming performance, according to Colorful.

Rear I/O includes six USB Type-A ports and two USB Type-C ports, while networking is handled by a 5GbE LAN port and an onboard Wi-Fi 7 module.

The board also includes tool-free mechanisms for GPU installation and M.2 heatsink mounting, aimed at making upgrades and maintenance more straightforward for first-time builders.

The B760M-Plus S WiFi7 takes a more value-oriented approach, retaining DDR4 memory support for users upgrading from older systems without replacing their existing RAM.

The board is compatible with Intel 12th, 13th and 14th Gen Core processors and uses a 12+1+1 phase 60A DrMOS power design. Colorful states the power delivery can handle sustained heavy workloads, including when paired with processors such as the Core i7-14700K.

Four DDR4 slots support speeds of up to 4,800 MHz when overclocked.

A reinforced PCIe 5.0 x16 slot is included for next-generation graphics cards, including RTX 50 series GPUs. Three PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots come equipped with full-coverage heatsinks to help maintain storage performance under load.

Wi-Fi 7 rounds out the connectivity options, providing lower latency and more stable wireless performance for gaming and streaming workloads.

Pricing and availability

Colorful has not disclosed pricing or availability dates for either model. The company is directing interested buyers to contact their local Colorful Technology representative for details.
