Codafication And IAG Partner To Modernise Property Claims

Codafication has partnered with Insurance Australia Group to overhaul how property claims are managed across one of the largest insurance supply chains in Australia and New Zealand.

The agreement centres on Crunchwork, the vendor’s cloud platform built in Brisbane to automate workflows and streamline communication between insurers, customers and suppliers. Codafication positions the system as a way to reduce manual handling and give all parties real-time visibility as claims progress.

Property claims in Australia commonly relate to storm and water damage, fire or theft. These events often require multiple parties to coordinate repairs. Codafication argues that fragmented processes slow down outcomes and create confusion about responsibility.

Real-Time Collaboration For Faster Repairs

Crunchwork replaces manual status updates with a single platform that connects insurers, suppliers and customers. Structured data is used to populate tasks and trigger automated workflows, reducing the need for phone calls or email chains.

Daniel Sandaver, Codafication’s Founder and Managing Director, said the idea for Crunchwork came from years spent observing bottlenecks in the claims process.

“After years in insurance claims, I noticed a lack of real-time visibility on claim status with suppliers, forcing teams to chase updates by phone or email, which slowed down the entire rebuild process,” Sandaver said.

He described the common situation as a “triangle of confusion” involving customers, carriers and the supply chain seeking updates from one another without a shared system.

“With Crunchwork’s real-time information sharing, the customer will know who’s responsible for which part of the claim and who to go to for clarification,” he said.

Sandaver added that the platform acts as a project control tower.

“Crunchwork is a project management ecosystem which automates workflows and was created to fix the challenges we saw first-hand in the insurance recovery and claims process. It acts as a control tower for the entire claims process, providing real-time oversight across all stakeholders.”

He said scaling the system helps drive better outcomes.

“By scaling Crunchwork into the business, we are driving better claims outcomes, enhancing customer experience, providing real-time updates delivering both cost and time efficiencies. Through our partnership, IAG can focus on improved system controls and consistent supplier management, providing the best possible experience for their clients while modernising their claims supply chain operating model.”

IAG Looks To Strengthen Digital Claims Capabilities

IAG is rolling the platform across its extensive property claims network. The insurer views the integration as a way to establish a single source of truth and unify how suppliers, assessors and internal teams communicate.

Scott Linsday, Executive Manager of Property Fulfilment at IAG, said the collaboration gives the insurer clearer oversight of the process.

“By integrating our supplier network into Crunchwork, we are creating a single source of truth for every claim. Suppliers, assessors and IAG teams alike will see the same real-time information – repair schedules, scope updates and progress milestones – creating a seamless customer journey,” Linsday said.

Australian-Built Platform Gains Traction

Codafication emphasises that all core development for the platform is carried out locally. The provider is part of a broader wave of Australian software businesses focusing on essential industries such as insurance and property services.

The partnership expands the platform’s role in a sector where automation and real-time data have become essential for efficiency and customer expectations.

Crunchwork’s expansion into IAG’s operations marks another step in the insurer’s broader aim to improve digital claims capability from initial lodgement to repair completion.
