Surprisingly Useful AI Article Enhancements
Carta has opened broad access to its suite of plugins for Anthropic’s Claude, giving private capital firms the ability to pull fund administration, cap table management and dealflow analytics directly into the AI assistant’s ecosystem.
The private capital platform has built three plugins – an Investors Plugin, a CRM Plugin and a Cap Table Plugin – that connect live Carta data to spreadsheets, presentations and other daily workflows through Claude’s interface.
More than 1,500 companies and firms are already using the tools, which first launched in April 2026 and are now available through Anthropic’s plugin directory to any firm with an active Carta account.
The problem Carta is targeting
Private capital operations teams have long relied on manual handoffs between disconnected systems to move data through their workflows. Carta’s CEO, Henry Ward, framed the plugins as a direct response to that friction.
“For the last decade, private capital operation teams have been held back by a hidden tax: the constant, manual handoff of data between disconnected systems,” Ward told reporters. “Carta is eliminating that broken loop entirely by embedding intelligence directly into the tools teams already use.”
Rather than providing Claude with a raw data feed, Carta has embedded its domain knowledge into the plugin architecture. That includes task-specific skills that encode how particular operations are performed, reference files that teach Claude a fund’s own vocabulary and rules, and deterministic scripts that handle reporting calculations.
The plugins also include guardrails that flag any figure as Claude’s estimate rather than a verified number from Carta’s books. Every action runs on the same user-level permissions and audit trail a firm already has in Carta, with no separate credentialing required and no data uploaded outside the platform.
Weeks of work compressed into hours
Among the early adopters is Delta-v Capital, a Denver-based venture firm managing 28 funds and $1.6 billion in assets under management.
The firm’s COO, Kyle Rogers, used the plugins to compress what had previously been weeks of manual compliance work.
“One prompt pulls every data point,” Rogers explained. “I can say definitively it’s going to save us multiple days next year.”
Tribe Capital Management, a San Francisco-based venture firm managing close to 100 fund structures and more than $2 billion in assets under management, reported a similar experience.
The firm’s Fund Controller, Stuart Johnson, described the shift as long overdue.
“When the Carta Plugin for Claude worked, my initial reaction was: Wow, I can’t believe this is finally here. It’s like everything you’ve ever wanted in terms of cutting down on manual workflows and turnaround times,” Johnson recalled.
“We’ve been able to cut down that manual, complicated web of reconciliation across four funds and 100 SPVs – from a week of doing it manually to a day.”
What the Investors Plugin does
The Carta Investors Plugin is aimed at Fund CFOs and Controllers. It allows users to pull live cash actuals from Carta’s general ledger directly into Excel and run budget-versus-actual reconciliations in real time.

Users can generate AGM decks in minutes by pulling multi-fund performance metrics and portfolio data dynamically. They can also run end-to-end waterfall simulations inside active spreadsheets by querying Carta data through Claude’s sidebar, without leaving the tools they already work in.
CRM Plugin connects relationships to economic data
The CRM Plugin ties relationship management to Carta’s underlying economic data. IR leaders and deal teams can query investor profiles and engagement history to build targeted outreach lists for upcoming fundraises.
It also allows users to generate visual charts of deal origination trends broken down by geography or industry, and to draft personalised LP update emails grounded in each investor’s actual commitment and interaction history.
Cap Table Plugin for equity oversight
The Cap Table Plugin is built for founders, Finance Leaders and Equity Administrators. It lets users pull live cap table summaries and 409A records to draft board presentations in PowerPoint.
The plugin supports generation of any of 18 report types, spanning options outstanding through to securities ledgers, for export to Excel. It can also scan for operational issues such as expiring valuations, low option pools or maturing SAFEs ahead of board meetings.
Who is using it
Delta-v Capital, Tribe Capital Management, Vine Ventures, Kapor Capital and Liquid2 Ventures are among the firms that have adopted the plugins in their early stages.
Access is governed by the same permissions that apply across Carta’s platform. No separate credentialing is required.
Carta serves 55,000 companies and more than 1.8 million equity holders across more than 160 countries. The platform also supports 10,000 funds and SPVs representing $250 billion in assets under management.
