Surprisingly Useful AI Article Enhancements
Data integration platform vendor, Boomi, and consulting firm, Jade Global, have expanded their partnership to help manufacturers deploy AI agents across production operations, supply chains and enterprise systems.
The collaboration pairs Boomi’s Enterprise Platform and its Agent Control Plane with Jade Global’s Industry 4.0 Smart Manufacturing Framework to address a problem the two companies say is common in manufacturing: AI agent projects that work in pilot environments but stall before reaching production use.
The Manufacturing AI Problem
Manufacturers typically operate with data spread across multiple systems, including enterprise resource planning (ERP), manufacturing execution systems (MES), product lifecycle management (PLM), quality management, warehouse management and supplier EDI platforms. Much of this infrastructure is legacy.
AI agents that act on data drawn from these systems without a unified foundation or audit trail can introduce risk in areas where manufacturers have limited tolerance for error, such as production scheduling, inventory management, supplier commitments and regulatory record-keeping.
It is this gap between a working prototype and a governed production deployment that the expanded partnership aims to close.
SVP of Global Alliances and Channels at Boomi, Dan McAllister, framed the challenge in terms of accountability rather than capability.
“Manufacturers have some of the richest operational data in the enterprise and some of the strictest requirements for acting on it,” McAllister noted. “The question is no longer whether agents can do useful work on a production line or in a supply chain. It is whether the business can see what an agent did, trust the data it acted on and account for the outcome.”
McAllister added that this is what Boomi’s Agent Control Plane and its underlying data foundation are designed to deliver, with Jade Global providing the manufacturing depth to implement it.
What Each Company Brings
Under the partnership, Boomi provides what it calls an “active data foundation” that keeps master and operational data synchronised across applications, APIs and data sources used in manufacturing operations.
Its Agent Control Plane handles the lifecycle of AI agents, from design and testing through to deployment and ongoing management. Policy enforcement is managed through Boomi’s AI and MCP gateways, while the Agent Control Tower provides observability across agent actions.
Jade Global contributes its manufacturing integration and data management expertise, including B2B and EDI managed services. The company has worked with Boomi since 2017 and achieved Platinum Implementation Partner status in 2019. Its integration centre of excellence draws on close to a decade of experience in manufacturing environments.
Jade Global’s framework includes prebuilt patterns for specific manufacturing use cases, including supplier exception handling, maintenance follow-through and demand-to-supply rebalancing.
Governance And Audit Controls
A central theme of the partnership is governance. Every action taken by an AI agent within the system is logged for audit purposes.
Higher-risk actions, such as modifying a purchase order or releasing a production hold, can be configured to require human approval before proceeding. Policy enforcement is applied through Boomi’s gateway infrastructure, and agents can be deployed locally, regionally or in the cloud depending on plant latency, data residency and sovereignty requirements.
The intent is that agents operating within manufacturing environments are subject to the same controls already applied to mission-critical integrations.

Japanese Manufacturing Focus
While the partnership is global in scope, it carries a specific focus on the Japanese manufacturing sector.
Chief Technology and Strategy Officer at Jade Global, Arun Menon, pointed to the expectations of Japanese manufacturers as a benchmark for the kind of rigour the partnership is designed to support.
“Japanese manufacturers set the global benchmark for quality and operational discipline, and they rightly expect the same rigour from AI,” Menon observed. “An agent that adjusts a production schedule or flags a supplier exception must be as traceable as any change made on the line.”
Menon noted that many of the manufacturers Jade Global works with are simultaneously modernising integration systems that have been built over decades, and that this modernisation creates the foundation AI agents require.
“With Boomi, we help them do both: connect and govern their operational data, then put agents to work on it with every action recorded and accountable,” he added. “We are committed to supporting manufacturers in Japan as they move agentic AI from pilot to production.”
What It Means In Practice
For manufacturers, the partnership is structured to deliver several outcomes.
AI agents are grounded in operational data that is continuously reconciled and synchronised. Items, bills of material, supplier records, equipment data and quality records are kept current rather than drawn from stale extracts, and every record an agent touches is traceable to its source.
Governance is applied to every agent action through policy enforcement. Agents can be deployed across different infrastructure configurations to meet local requirements, all managed through a single control plane.
Jade Global’s methodology provides prebuilt implementation patterns adapted for agentic use cases, with the aim of shortening the path from initial assessment to production deployment.
