BlackBerry Limited and Dicker Data have entered a new distribution agreement, aiming to expand the reach and support of BlackBerry’s cybersecurity solutions for organisations and reseller partners across Australia and New Zealand.

This partnership connects Dicker Data’s extensive network of channel partners with BlackBerry’s suite of solutions. These include tools designed to safeguard data, communications, people, critical infrastructure, and devices.

Expanded Access to Cybersecurity Solutions

Dicker Data will now offer BlackBerry’s cybersecurity products, which are driven by Cylance Ai to predict and prevent cyberattacks. This includes NATO-certified BlackBerry SecuSUITE, which is designed to prevent eavesdropping and interception, BlackBerry UEM (Unified Endpoint Management) for data and app protection, and BlackBerry AtHoc, used globally for critical event management and incident response. These tools are designed to address a range of threats, from cyber-attacks to natural disasters.

The agreement builds on recent developments in BlackBerry’s cybersecurity offerings, such as the launch of CylanceMDR Pro. This managed detection and response (MDR) service is built on an Open XDR platform and leverages Ai to meet the challenges of modern cybersecurity. CylanceMDR Pro is designed to alleviate the operational burdens faced by security teams, particularly in the face of increasingly sophisticated adversaries and the ongoing shortage of cybersecurity talent.

Addressing Growing Cybersecurity Needs

Maria Pinna-Kardasis (pictured), Senior Director for APAC Channels at BlackBerry Cybersecurity, highlighted the importance of this partnership. “BlackBerry is pleased to announce our new channel distribution partnership with Dicker Data, a trusted Australian and New Zealand solutions and services distributor with over four decades of experience. As the Asia Pacific region deals with geopolitical uncertainty and a shortage of cyber-skills, the demand for trusted solutions to combat rising threats and new methods of attack is growing. We believe our partnership with Dicker Data will help resellers across the region support governments and businesses of all sizes to strengthen security defences while also creating new growth opportunities for the channel.”

BlackBerry’s latest Global Threat Report placed Australia among the top five most attacked nations globally. The report also found that 60 per cent of attacks targeted critical infrastructure sectors such as government, healthcare, financial services, and communications, underscoring the pressing need for stronger security measures in these vital areas.

Commitment to Expert Support and Growth

To ensure top-level support, Dicker Data’s engineers will receive full training and certification from BlackBerry. This will enable the distributor to provide expert and specialised assistance in Australia and New Zealand.

Vlad Mitnovetski, Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of Dicker Data, commented on the partnership’s significance. “We understand that organisations in both the private and public sectors have a broad range of requirements across the cybersecurity spectrum, and BlackBerry is well-positioned to meet these needs. Through this partnership, we are providing our reseller partners with access to a range of world-class solutions and services that address various market sectors — from military-grade communications to enterprise tools for SMEs, skilled cyber experts on demand, or incident management for IT outages. We expect our partnership with BlackBerry to create significant value for our partners looking to grow their cybersecurity businesses, increase service revenues, and add value through additional services. Together, we are committed to providing top-tier cybersecurity solutions that meet the diverse needs of our partners and their end-customers in this region.”
