Bastion Security Group has signed a deal to merge with Perth-based Seamless Intelligence in a move aimed at deepening its presence in Australia’s cybersecurity market.
The New Zealand-headquartered company said the acquisition is expected to complete in the September 2025 quarter. It follows Bastion’s earlier purchase of Melbourne-based managed security services provider Cythera.
The current shareholders of Seamless will remain invested in the Bastion Group after the deal is finalised.
Strengthening Cybersecurity Capabilities
Seamless Intelligence, founded in 2018 by Christopher Bolan and Tristan Bennett, delivers security information and event management services, along with security operations centre functions, to enterprise and government clients.
The company employs about 25 cybersecurity specialists and has developed a suite of proprietary tools for service delivery.
Bastion said the merger would broaden its ability to deliver managed services across Australia and New Zealand, with customers gaining access to expanded coverage on both the east and west coasts of Australia, as well as in New Zealand.
The combined offering will also include governance, risk and compliance, penetration testing, cloud and network security, cyber strategy advisory services and threat intelligence.
Executives Outline Strategic Vision
Bastion Security Group Chief Executive, Eugene Gibney, said the merger supports the company’s ambition to build a trans-Tasman managed security services business.
“The acquisition of Seamless Intelligence represents another important step in our strategy,” Gibney said.
“Seamless has earned a strong reputation for technical excellence and client trust, with a clear focus on making advanced cyber protection both accessible and tailored. We’re excited to welcome their talented team to Bastion and look forward to combining our capabilities to deliver an even stronger managed security services offering across Australia and New Zealand.”
Seamless Intelligence Chief Executive, Christopher Bolan, said the partnership aligns with the company’s original goals.
“From the beginning, our mission has been to deliver outstanding cybersecurity outcomes for our clients through transparency, technical rigour and trust,” Bolan said.
“In Bastion, we’ve found a partner that shares those values and brings the scale, depth and breadth to take that mission even further. This partnership enables us to offer our clients broader capabilities, greater coverage and continuity of the team and service model they’ve come to rely on.”
Integration Plans
Seamless’ leadership team will remain in place. Over time, the team will integrate with Cythera’s Australian operations to strengthen the group’s managed services capabilities.
Bastion said the move will benefit staff, management and customers, with an emphasis on retaining existing service standards while expanding the product set.
