Surprisingly Useful AI Article Enhancements
Supply chain compliance platform Avetta has upgraded its Find Supplier capability, adding AI-powered search, performance benchmarks and map-based discovery to help hiring clients identify and evaluate qualified suppliers more quickly across its network of more than 360,000 businesses worldwide.
The updates apply to the Avetta One platform, which connects hiring clients with prequalified suppliers across more than 120 countries. In Australia, the network includes over 56,000 suppliers.
The changes come as Australian businesses face pressure on margins from inflation. According to data cited by Avetta, inflationary pressures are more likely to be absorbed by businesses than passed on to customers. In response, 31 per cent of businesses plan to renegotiate supply contracts, while roughly one in five plan to source new local suppliers (21 per cent) or new foreign suppliers (19 per cent).
What has changed
The upgraded Find Supplier tool introduces AI-powered search that returns results without requiring exact search terms, allowing procurement and safety teams to describe what they need in plain language.
New benchmarks are surfaced within search results, giving hiring clients visibility into a supplier’s tenure on the platform, total connections, sustainability score and compliance trends. Map-based and location-based discovery allows clients to find qualified suppliers near specific job sites, which Avetta says is intended to reduce schedule risk on upcoming projects.
The updates also allow users to view key supplier details and initiate connections directly from search results rather than navigating through multiple steps.
“This is about making a trusted, ready-to-work community truly actionable,” Dawn Andre, Chief Product Officer at Avetta, told media. “With Find Supplier, we’re turning trusted data into action – helping our customers move faster, make more confident decisions and build stronger partnerships that drive better outcomes across the supply chain.”
Benefits for suppliers
For suppliers already on the Avetta platform, the changes are designed to make their compliance credentials and performance history more visible to potential clients during the search process.
Verified credentials, performance records and readiness signals are now surfaced directly within search results, giving compliant suppliers a way to differentiate themselves when hiring clients are evaluating options.
Paul Konstek, CEO at Harmon Transportation, pointed to the commercial opportunity the updated tools create.
“Avetta has enabled growth while streamlining processes and resourcing,” Konstek explained. “With the new Find Supplier capabilities, we can take this business trajectory further by connecting with more customers looking for efficient, reliable and compliant light freight delivery services.”
Steven Sundstrom, Director at Odina Industries, highlighted the role Avetta verification plays in supplier credibility.
“Find Supplier’s new features will now help more businesses discover and leverage our credentials and capabilities, knowing that we’re in good company among other Avetta-verified businesses,” Sundstrom added.
Supply chain workforce risks
The updates align with broader concerns about supply chain resilience. The World Economic Forum has flagged workforce continuity, skills shortages and fatigue as under-appreciated supply chain risks. Avetta’s position is that making supplier readiness visible, verifiable and actionable helps address these risks by allowing hiring clients to assess whether potential partners are genuinely prepared to deliver.
The platform combines AI-driven compliance monitoring with human expertise to manage prequalification, safety performance and benchmarking. It is used by businesses across industries to verify that suppliers and contractors meet required safety and regulatory standards before work begins.
